We have just returned from our 7 day Caribbean cruise aboard RCCL Oasis of the Seas and as promised here are my impressions:

This was a fantastic ship. There were no lines at all to embark and we were onboard in the promised 15 minutes but there were some long lines to get back onboard at 2 of the 3 ports. However it really only took about 20-25 minutes to get through them.

The zip line and the flow riders were great fun and the shows were great. Hairspray was so well done. I have seen that on Broadway, in LA and in London and this was on a par.

Food in the dinng room was OK to good. Nothing special there but we had one dinner in the specialty restuarant 150 Central Park and it was as good as anything I have had on Regent or Silversea. There were at least 5 breakfast and lunch venues and some of those were really good.

We booked a Junior Suite and it was perfect, walk-in closet and tub/shower.

The technology on this ship was quite something. They had interactivee maps at the elevators. You could input your cabin number and it would show you how to get there from where you were standing. You could check how crowded any of the restaurants were on the same board as well as on your TV. You could ask "What is there to do right now?" and the board would give you a list of activities. The elevators had a button entitled "Gangway". When the ship was in port if you pushed that button the elevator would automatically take you to the deck where the gangway was. Very cool stuff!

It may not be luxury cruising (altho we did tour through some of the big suites and they are unbelievable) but I thought it was a great trip and would do it again in a minute.
