Like others have said, a lot of the electronic equipment can be plugged into 220-240V outlets w/o a converter. They are equipped to deal with the higher voltage. You would just need an adapter to plug into the European outlets. We learned this a couple of yeras ago when researching if my son needed a converter to recharge his IPOD in Europe. He didn't. Actually, he would have damaged it if he had used a converter!
