Why is it that when you get back from a cruise, the first thing you think is when can I plan to go again? :mecry:
Well, the last couple of days were uneventful, because on Thursday I had an allergic reaction to something and broke out in a rash all over my neck. They don't sell Benadryl in the gift shop, I guess because of the new legislation that prevents you from buying it from the shelf. However, the ship's doctor was able to give me some.
So Wednesday night was my last hoorah, pretty much. We sang karoke that night and it was so much fun!! For the first time ever I won tokens!! Woo-hoo! So I was able to get a logo coffee mug and visor at the end of the voyage.
Thursday night we did go into Key West and listened to a band play for a little while. The Benadryl was making me sleepy though, so we did not stay out late. The band was really good. Don't know if it was the Benadryl or not that made me do it, but I bought two of their CDs. They were called the Carter Brothers and their music was kind of a jazzy bluegrass. Very nice. Here is their website if you want to check them out http://carterbrothersband.com/ .
Friday, our last day, I did not want to get any sun due to the rash, so we had some the best key lime pie at The Blond Giraffe http://www.blondgiraffe.com/ and just tooled around Key West a little bit on one of these scooter things. You operate it like a scooter, but it had three wheels and two seats. So for those ladies that don't want to operate your own scooter and don't like to sit behind on one of the scooters, then this is your ticket. I'll ask Karen to help me post a picture of it. It is so cute. It was $50 every two hours, but you really don't need it longer than that. You can pretty much see the whole island in two hours. :) It was a place at the end of Duval Street called Tropical Rentals 305-294-8136.
I'll close with this quote from the chocolate left on pillow every night.
It is not enough to say I have been there. A voyage is not just a journey. It's a period carved out of time, when the impossible can happen. -Unknown :D
