Here's my "official" report:
The trip was great!
The ports were: Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, Saint John, NB, Bar Harbor, Boston and Newport. We were able to see some wonderful fall foliage, the colors had justed peaked. Overall our shore excursions were good to excellent. The trip was 11 days with 3 sea days.
Overall, with the exception of Quebec City we had fairly nice weather ranging from the 50's to the 60's and a few sunny days. It was cold, windy and in the 40's in Quebec City but that didn't stop us! We especially enjoyed our time in Bar Harbor and Newport.
The service, food...etc was as good as ever on the Symphony. I know that assigned seating would be a negative if I had only sailed on Regent but we seemed to have lucked out again. We had a table for 8 and one of the couples was on our Alaskan cruise last year. WE had prearranged to sit together again. The other 2 couples were the best. One is from Beverly Hills and the other from Sydney Austrailia. We typically were the last people out of the dining room. The service we received in the dining room was the best ever. WE also ate in the specialty restaurants and they were excellent. We had 3 sea days and there was always something interesting going on, particularly the lecturers. Even though the ship is having an extensive drydock at the end of the month, $23 Million, the ship looked great!
The only negative was that the internet access was very, very slow. I can't wait for our next cruise...not until August 31st!
Everyone, thanks for the warm welcome home!
