Clyde and I did it last December, takin g the B.A. to Manaus and then the Manaus to Ft. Lauderdale, btb. We loved it except that the Amazon is such a huge, wide river, we never did see the rain forest/ animals. What would you like to know, in particular?
Many people on our cruise did not take the malaria pills; we were maybe one of the few who did. No bad affects. I think the fact that we took the the cruise up the river and then down made it a little too much Amazon. The best was seeing the two rivers (Rio Negra and I've forgotten the name of the other river) side by side, one very dark brown and the other coffee colored flowing together and never mixing. Terry, as usual, was a wonderful commentator at the bridge describing everything we were seeing. You can't go wrong with this cruise! The Opera House in Manaus was awesome. We heard a fabulous jazz concert. Not what wwe expected at all!! We thought Opera! No, it was the best jazz I've heard in years. Hope you get to hear it, too. I could go on and on. So enjoy!
