Antarctica is very different. No Russia permissions are required which was an underlying issue to everything done on this cruise. While some of the landing sites may need to be slightly modified due to sea conditions etc one will always see the penguins and the other sites to see.
Wrangel is conditional on the ice where Antarctica does not have near the same issues. Some ice can be incontered in the Waddell sea but there are several alternate sites that can be accessed.
