I love long historical novels (ala James Michener). Just finished reading New York by Edward Rutherfurd. He's also written books about Ireland (The Princes of Ireland), England (Sarum and New Forest) and Russia (Russka). I'm also reading The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series (setting in Botswana) by Alexander McCall Smith--great fun reading.
