Mayor Bloomberg, again, did a masterful job of making sure we do not forget. He opened ceremonies with "A day that started like any other and ended like no other ever had".
Some of the children were remembering their late parents - how long will those memories stay alive? They have precious few memories to keep with them and a long time to live. It brought back for me the months after the terror attacks, when the enormity of the loss permeated every minute of every day.
