I agree. You are going to be so surprised how so many things have changed. They are building 2 new hotels next to that Marriott. And the Lionshead Mall open last year where the Gondola Bldg used to be. The gondola might have already moved 8 years ago. I hated the closed in feeling this new development gave the mall, but now that it is finished, it's really nice. And Crossroads is now gone in the Village. But they are building on the site.
I really am jealous. I've been going to Vail since 1977 and never seen it with snow or in the winter. For years I've said - use the Marriott points and go. Instead I've used them for pre & post cruises. One of these days I'll make it. I do check the webcams nearly every day. I know you will have a wonderful time. Have a bowl of chili and maybe a glass of wine at Eagles Nest for me.
