An answer for Flyerdreamer - I am just a little bit younger than the "Pearl Harbor Generation" so I don't remember the actual attack at all; however, I think that 9/11 had to be much worse because of television and the media attention that we are now capable of generating. We were in France when it happened and even there had the surreal experience of watching it over and over again.
