Oh yeh, I agree with Kathy--if you go for a crate, get one that can see her through to adulthood, and make it an open ex-pen. (They are called that I think because they are commonly used at dog shows (exhibitions.)) As Kathy says, you can always throw a towel or blanket over all or part of it for that cave-like feel.
