I'm not sure if this will be a hot topic as it is on CC but please know my intentions are good...
We have cruised on the Wonder, Magic, and Dream with an upcoming trip on Fantasy.
Last time on Dream was in concierge 1 Br. Concierge on Dream is a bit different d/t having a dedicated lounge (food / beverage) as well as a dedicated sundeck which the Magic / Wonder do not have.
But despite our DCL love, we took our children to Alaska (5 and 7 at the time) on Regent Navigator in a Navigator Suite on a southbound cruise. They still consider their Regent cruise to be their best cruise ever.
Regent advantages were / are:
The port times are better on Regent being longer than on DCL.
Regent sailing allows you to see Anchorage and take the train (a highlight) to Seward.
Regent stops at Sitka and DCL does not. The Sea Otter tour was one of the better ones we took for wildlife.
There is just so many outdoor activities from port / shorex to just natural beauty that I feel the kids would have been missing out to be cloistered in the kids clubs playing video games, baking cookies, or making flubber - as much as they enjoy all of those things on Disney.
I thought the Navigator suite was comparable to a concierge 1 Br on the Dream.
But after all it is Alaska, can you really go wrong? Best for a great cruise no matter.
