Our rescued kitty (now a year old) loves to play and sometimes gets a bit rough, however, when my grandchildren 2 and 4 come over, he is just a mush. Animals are such a gift - they just have to be trained properly and watched closely when children are around. Hope it works out for the Lab - it's sad. :( j.
