Sorry I haven't been back, it's been a rollercoaster ride all the way. Rich seems to take two steps forward and then one and a half steps back. He is still critical, they are trying to find an ICU bed in a hospital that has more equpment. We have almost lost him a couple of times just in the last few days; the diagnosis we finally got has a horrifyingly high mortality rate. Yesterday they finally managed to get him stable enough to do a tracheostomy, then it took hours to get him past having to be flat for that.
