Marcie - you don't really have to join - you need to have an Ebay Account (and your handle there is the one you use) as well as a Paypal account (since they're the "accounting" arm for Ebay) - I'm not absolutely sure how you spend it on Ebay stuff though since I've always switched them over to AA miles.
