Okay so the last time we were on the PG I ordered breakfast from room service one morning and they set it up on the balcony for me. It was so perfectly picturesque that I asked George to grab a photo of it, which he kindly did. I meant it to share with a circle of friends I keep in close touch with. He posted it to Flickr. A few months ago he received an email from National Geographic Traveler, asking if they could purchase the photo for use with an article about cruising. Turns out, George thought they could! It's in the current (April) issue, page 27. I have been teasing him about his first ever published photo showing up in a National Geographic publication. I saw the picture when I read the magazine and thought it looked like Regent china--who knew it was LCT related? Way to go! Did they pay enough for the picture to take another cruise--or just an excursion or two?

Congrats George! Thanks Marsha for posting that wonderful pix. Makes me homesick for a Regent balcony. We enjoyed being your "hallmates" on Fjords and having dinner with you pre cruise. Does George wear that beautiful suit he bought in Copenhagen?? - Joanna

Thanks, all, for you kind comments. Peggy, the check didn't even come close to paying for the new lens I insisted he buy to celebrate! Joanna, we both wear all the stuff we loaded up on in Copenhagen, and look forward to repeating the cruise in 09, with our sons and their partners and HOPEFULLY our luggage in tow as well this time. It was fun being hallmates with you and Tony and Marcie and Tom. Thanks again for the loan of the lovely silk jacket.

Congratulations! I saw that photo in NGT, and thought how familiar it looked--of course making me long to be on that balcony with that breakfast in front of me. Little did I realize it was a familiar ship and a photo taken by "family".
