Air Canada or Air Nippon.

I was asked which was the best option between these two airlines travelling in business class. We have never flown on either of these airlines and do not sell air, so I really do not know. Do any of you have "words of wisdom" on these two airlines. This is getting to Japan with United miles.

Ngaire, I can’t give you a personal recommendation yet but I suggest you Google “ANA business class” and “Air Canada business class.” Do the same searches on YouTube to see a number of review videos. In particular, most of the ANA reviews I’ve seen are glowing.

I have flown business class on both of them. Air Canada does not have first class so business class is their best service. I would make my decision based on cabin configuration. Air Canada is usually 1-2-1. ANA could also be 1-2-1 in business, or it could be more seats across. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with either product. The service on ANA is a bit more attentive. As Dave says, go to YouTube and you can see both airlines.

Another factor to consider when two people travel in a 1-2-1 cabin is that if they want to sit next to each other they must take the two middle seats. No one gets a window.

I did have Ken look it up and send those links to the person asking. I just always think that it is good to have a personal point of view as well and I figured some of you may have flown these airlines. Thank you both for your responses. Can always rely on both of you, as there is a ton of experience between the two of you for sure.

KLT arranged with Regent for us to fly Business Class from Wash. D.C. to Tokyo on ANA (6700 miles, 14 hours non-stop) for our April 2019 Regent cruise - magnificent flight! Ended with our ANA flight attendant walking Mary's wheel chair through Customs and all the way through Baggage Claim (Narita is a big airport and was then under renovation).

We have flown both AC and ANA several times to and/or from Asia. As Tom noted, they are both good. Although we prefer ANA if we have a choice, I would look at the particular configuration of the plane to be sure that you like the seating options, as well as the flight timing. A couple of years ago, we chose AC over ANA for a flight back from Tokyo because the arrival time into Vancouver was much better. I prefer the food in Biz on ANA.
