I just noticed when going to check our 6/06 trip that the dress codes are shown on the itinerary page for each day of the trip. I checked a few other listings and they also show the dress codes so apparently this is a new feature. It's great for pre-trip planning. Marilyn

Nice addition!

We need to report back from our cruises as to whether fact matched plan. If they do consistently match the plan, this is a great feature.

I also noticed no formal on my father's Caribbean Cruise; has Radisson now added Caribbean as another location that is never formal?

This is incredibly helpful. It has always seemed that the dress codes for all but the 100% Country Club Casual cruises have been closely held secrets, making planning difficult. This is super!!

Marc, as usual, raises a good point about whether reality matches what is planned. On the Voyager September 10-17 cruise pre-cruise documentation did match fact. However, on the second leg of the B2B the pre-cruise documentation (no formal nights identified) did not match reality (one formal night). Result: I did not take a tux for the one formal night that was planned on this B2B when there were two (I would have taken my tux if I had known.).

This is the third cruise out of five that the RSSC precruise documentation did not match reality.

Personally, I would not rely too heavily on precruise attire information whether printed or on the web site. But one can always hope...

Still no specifics for New Years Eve going through the Panama Canal on the Voyager . . . .

Under the "Dress Code" column on the PG itineraries, it's blank...does that mean all PG cruises are CC casual?

Just answered my own question - the brochure says every night is CC casual. I'm a PG virgin, here, be patient with me! :)

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Oct 22 Voyager isn't having formal night the 2nd night out. That is when it has been on all my other cruises. Must be because they know people will be exhausted from the 1st 2 ports being Florence, then Rome. Formal night not until the 4th night out. I like that.

I saw that most of the seven day cruises that were port intensive had no formal nights. Mostly country club casual with one or two informal nights. Is this a new trend? I noticed that our MUSH cruise had only one informal night on the second night and all the rest were casual.

All Alaska and Bermuda are usually CCC. I wish all 7 day cruises were that way - make for easier packing!

Actually, I had talked to some one on board (I forgot which officer) and all the North American Continent were going to be CC Casual and informal only - no formal nights. There were none on our Navigator New England last year or Bermuda and I don't remember any on Alaska either.

Boy, is that ever a great feature! Just sent an e-mail to Mark Conroy thanking him and his team for the idea. Who says RSSC doesn't listen to the customer? Is this a great line or what!

That is a great feature. I can now confirm to David that I need to buy him some new ties :D , and that he needs to pack his suit. When I reminded him about the formal nights next June, he blanched! But he'll have a great time despite the dress codes.

Yes this is a great feature.
For our "PARTY" cruise 12/27/05 I am still surprised that they are not showing formal for New Years Eve.

Jim, I don't think it will be formal, as we have that the night before. I think they are playing with us with this port. Would rather they didn't but, hey, we'll find a way.

Since you cruise thru the Canal you will be in a port - the Gatun Yacht Club - it's an active excursion port and dinner is on the top deck of the ship as you pass under the lights for the locks. It was an amazing evening - one of the best ever on a ship - unforgettable.

I'm with you, I don't mind dressing up, but for me, dressing up is wearing a skirt! And David hates wearing a shirt and tie let alone a suit. So why don't we add to the other thread: "If I were Mark Conroy", I would make all cruises CCC with the option to dress up on certan nights, for those who feel like it. I know on the PG, they have always said, "if you feel like being dressy, the captain's reception night is the night to do it", and that works out just fine for everyone.

We enjoy the formal nights and dressing up in all the finery. It's another big part of the enjoyment of a cruise for us. I think my DH enjoys formal night more than I do. Eliminating formal nights on the PG and in the Caribbean is O.K., but we'd hate it if they took out all the formal nights--it's fun to see everyone else dressed up too.

I enjoy the formal nights on the longer cruises, but I could go without them on port intensive 7 day itineraries. The informal code is my favorite, however.

I agree, if a cruise is only 7 days and you're in a port everyday such as many of the Med itineraries....it doesn't make sense to have a formal night! Especially now with airlines adopting the 44 lbs. weight restriction. It's just too much to schlepp to Europe for one formal night ESPECIALLY if you're combining a cruise with a pre and post land stay. WAY TOO BIG A HASSLE!

Well - I'm in favor of Formal nights, and am disappointed to see that there will be none on our Jan 27 sailing.

Gil, you're in good company. Alan likes formal nights too...just purchased a white dinner jacket after seeing some pictures posted on LCT.
And, Peggy, we think it makes a cruise special, too.

But, I do agree with Marcie and Olivia that on a 7 night port-intensive cruise, formal nights are a hassle. So, the moral of this story, go on longer cruises and enjoy dressing up!

AMEN!!! I can sse it on long cruises with lots of sea days, but not on port intensive cruises.

I was quite interested to see attire for my upcoming 7 night Caribbean cruise with my daughter. Radisson lists 2 informal and 4 country club casual and forgot one of the days! The cruise is March 13th on the Mariner. Anyone have an explanation for this?
Cheers, Pam

I see they have left off your last night, the 19th, which is always casual.

I like the feature of listing the dress codes but Judy and I are disappointed to see that the 7-day cruise we'ver booked next October on the Voyager has no formal night(s), even on the sea day. In fact, for the two months or so the Voyager is in the Med, there are no formal nights!

As noted elsewhere, there are many other cruises that have one or more formal nights. Kind of hard to figure out the pattern. Some lines (Oceania) never have formal nights. Fine, at least you understand that that is their style. No with Radisson it seems to be "some times, some places we're formal but then again, maybe not".
