Hello All-
It appears to be "introduction time", so here goes:
Who Are We?
He: 62, semi-retired oncologist, curious, appropriately humble, wanderlusted and driven by sunsandwetblue. Lived in too many places (Chicago, NYC, Mexico, Saudi Arabia to name a few). Thrives on discovery and serendipity. Hobbies are jazz, fishing (marlin), flying, astronomy and thinking/reading. Tallish, gregarous and damnably opionated.
She: 52, interior decorator, also wanderlusted, SW Floridian, also gregarious but non-opionated and a learner-experiencer.
We: Live in SW FL. Travel insatiably. Cruise a lot (but never enough). Cruise preferences would be Seabourn, X, HAL (sadly now part of their demographic), SeaDream/Seagodess.
Goal: Find a small ship cruiseline willing to agree to up-front money from us, at decent per diem, for a guaranteed number of cruising days. Minimal advance notice by us...guaranteed accommodations (cabin "quality" incidental) by them. Meet interesting people (experiences, thoughts and conversation) and cruise until the lights are turned out.

Welcome Seadoc .. and do tell us about Seadream yacht club.. have been eyeing that for a very long time.. only thing I don't care for is no balcony cabins.. but do like that they would set up your beddy by under the stars.. how does that work out?

Welcome Seadoc! Love your goal! I haven't had the pleasure of sailing SeaDream since they took the little SeaGoddesses but I really enjoyed the SeaGoddess experience. Nowadays it's hard to forego the balcony though - so nice to have a somewhat private outdoor space. Look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome Seadoc. I am a retired OB RN and we also live in SW Florida. Originally spent far too many years in a Chicago 'burb freezing...but the job was there.
We are newbie cruisers having just returned from a voyage which took us from Rome to Barcelona on the Radisson Seven Seas Voyager. It was incredible!
We caught the cruise "bug"...not the bad one!
Now we are considering the South Pacific - New Zealand for our next adventure, perhaps next year on the Mariner.
This is a nice group. Their knowledge and advice is very helpful.
