Gosh. Hard to believe the cruise is just days away. Normally we wait until the night before to pack but with this trip decided to go ahead and start packing Sunday. Tough one. Only in the 40"s day and 30"s night in Montreal and all of Canada, plus rain showers in the forecast. Does not warm up much until around 50"s in Boston. Not until we leave NYC does it really warm up to the 80"s. Packing nightmare. Leave Wednesday for Billings. Jan has a work appointment in Billings at 4 pm. United flight at 7:25 am MDT Thursday. Get into Montreal at 8:39 pm EDT. Stops in Denver and Newark. Bing & Carol Cherry don't arrive Montreal until 11:30 pm the 27th so we will not see them until on board the ship next day. They are on American Airlines one stop. Billings to Dallas and Dallas to Montreal. Little over a year ago American Airlines started a daily flight from Billings to Dallas. Lots of people have been using it, but Jan and I have not yet.

Thanks.
Packed and just waiting for Jan to get home from her office. She has an appointment in Billings at 4 pm and it takes 2.10 hours to get there so she had better not Terry. Weather forecast looks like it has gotten worse until we get to NYC. Oh well. Price we pay for waiting for the last repositioning cruise.

In Montreal!! Had our 1st walking tour yesterday at1:30 pm. Today we have 2nd walking tour at 11:00 am Tonight 3rd Walking Ghost tour at 8:30 pm. Silver Sea Spirt is currently docked here. Walked by it yesterday. So far no rain but temperature is around 38 degrees so little cool. Tomorrow does not look good. Rain and cold while getting on the ship.

Lots of walking tours you do see a lot that way. It also means more options on the Compass Rose menu the first night. I bet they have mussels (if you like mussels) pretty safe bet in the past.
I am looking forward to boarding and seeing the refurbished Mariner on Thursday.I know it looks prettier but I sure miss those drawers and space in living area.

Sunday 10/28 Waiting to check out of our hotel and board the Navigator. Had a very interesting time doing our walking tours of Old Montreal. Last nights ghost walking tour was excellent. Guide was professional actor looked and acted the part. Little rainy and cold but we hung in there to the end. Ate at a French restaurant Friday and Italian last night both suggested by the concierge and they were fantastic. Bing & Carol should have arrived about midnight but have not heard from them. Meet them on board.

Looked like everyone arrived at the port at the same time. Long line to check in but went fairly quickly. Bing and Carol were about 12 couples ahead of us and the big surprise was we looked about 30 behind us and Bud & Sherry who we were with on our AMA river cruise were there. Great to see them. Have stayed in touch since That cruise a little so excited to see them. Dinner at CR with Cherry's and back to our cabin and in bed by 9:30. Today walking tour of Quebec City. Overcast cold but not raining at the moment.
Yes we had mussels last night.
Edit: La Veranda for breakfast this morning at 9:30. Hardly anyone there. Very good breakfast too. Saw Bud & Sherry and having dinner tonight at CR. Will be 8 of us as we will be with a lecturer on board for Titanic talk. Ship is beautiful. The remodeling done to it from the last time we were on it is fantastic. So far so good!!!

Ok after cruising on the Navigator 03/11/2009 and saying we would never cruise on that ship again Jan and I now have to eat crow. We were extremely impressed with it. Liked the remodeling done to Navigator lounge and changes to La Veranda so it could have a Prime 7. Oh and the vibration which was so bad that the liquor bottles would clang together and move around on the back bar. The work they did to reduce the vibration was a job well done. Yea it still vibrates a little but much reduced. Heck. I think the Explorer vibrates as much as the Navigator does now. Still miss that it does not have a Observation lounge, and would have been nice to have the other specialty restaurant but size prohibits that. Yes we would look at doing another cruise on the Navigator. Not sure many more than 14 days but who knows. Just thought it important to say positive things after we were so negative about the Navigator.

I totally agree with all you said Jim. Our very first cruise was on Navigator and was fine because we didn't know any better, but having since been on Mariner, Voyager and Explorer, I found Navigator to be a bit small. Our last cruise was from Barcelona to New York on Navigator and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were lucky enough to have Jamie and Dana on board and a few 'cruise friends'.
