Please tell me where I can read the info re:tier levels online. I live in the UK and the letter won't get to me for several weeks. I have only been on RSSC once, with second trip on 8/31 on the Voyager. If Shore Excursions becoe an issue, i.e. priority booking I will find a new line. That is the biggest part of the trips on a cruise ship. Thanks for the help

There was nothing in the letter about priority for excursions.

There was a "priority access to itineraries" which I find very intriguing. Would this mean that there will be a period of time where itineraries( i.e. cruises) can only be booked by past passengers from a certain "tier"? I know that now they do something like this for segments of the WC( at least I think they do). Radisson gets their schedules out so late that if we now have to further wait ( because we are not in the top tiers) to book we'll probably have to go with another line.

I just got my letter, pretty much all the info is what you can read on the website. The tier levels and launch date would of been nice.

Hi, ok, I'm calm well calm for me, as I spoke to Radisson about the tier/excursion thing, not to mention I never met a "palm that didn't like me", so I'm not worried anymore.

They explained the excursion thing and that they have nothing to do with "tier". I told them for the rest, I don't honestly care and probably never will care, i.e., priority dinner etc, if I can do it on land somewhere else, not a big deal to me, so that is now settled as far as I'm concerned. Hubby and I don't really care about which resto we eat in. Won't even be eating lunch or dinner or the ship when we are in Juneau as I've already booked something privately for dinner in Juneau.

For having a good time, if I come back healthy, my ears popped both ways on the plane and I put my 2 feet on Alsakan soil and I have no phone probs I will have enjoyed my trip. I really wish this trip were over and done with.

Thank you all for your help.

Thanks for the info. We love Radisson and now that my husband is willing to cruise, I would hate to be forced to try a new line. We will be trying to separate weeklong trips next year (within Europe) since that is our location right now. Makes sense before we head back to live in the US. I, too agree with Mrs. Moose that the dinner/spa reservations are unimportant to us....BUT I did not want to be excluded from excursions. Can't wait for 8/31!

Jean, honest....anything that RSSC might do is in the future; nothing is happening right now.

We don't cruise like some of these other folks do, our Navigator cruise next January will just be the fourth time since our first in 2001. What's that, not even one a year? And we have never been denied the excursions we requested.

You are upsetting yourself too much over "what-ifs", I am afraid you are going to worry until you ruin your own cruise.

Marsha, I don't get letters either.

it seems clear to me that this letter thing is somewhat subjective. We received the PG presidents thing, then 2 days later some specials for the Baltic. No tier letter, and sometimes nothing for months. i wonder how they determine what to mail to whom? Obviously, the PG thing worked out perfectly, we would have NEVER found that on the website. Frankly were not looking for anything as we just moved. The letter alone got us to call Ngaire just as she was heading out.

I used to get promotional emails from Radisson all the time, now I never do. Maybe my spam filters are grabbing them or something. So I just re-subscribed.

Pam and others, thank you so much for caring. It's really nice of you.

Nah, I'm one of those type personalities (is it A or B or a combo or am I just a strange C) that naturally worry, hubby too, he puts his faith in me by allowing me to arrange everything knowing I'll really work at it.just normal for us.

Very little could ruin my trip (except for health issues or major disasters).

I don't see this the same as land/air travel at all, with the normal land/air, I can always change hotels, eat at different restos and fly home whenever I want to basically. Since this is the first one, I feel like I'm giving up some form of control and that's what got me nervous.

What I don't have is high expectations so I doubt very little could ruin my trip. Nerves, standard issue for me.
Again thank you all for caring.

You are simply going to love Mariner! There is something about that ship that reaches out and extends such a warm welcome as you board!

And, if he's still around, that French captain is really good-looking (to me, anyway). Just a little bonus eye candy, there.

Oh, and then there are the truffles after dinner. Yum!

Hi Pam, sounds good, French Captain, well we will be able to converse with him in his own language which should make him happy if we get to meet him.

Truffles, sounds good, I'd better do a lot of "shopping" to walk off those calories, lol.

I'm sure it will be fine. I know a lot of people go for "cruise life" but I'm really going for the shore excursions, so now that that is settled, I'm good to go.

Oh yes, If Kenny is onboard, Mrs. Moose, his show is best appreciated from the front few rows. i have seen him on three of my RSSC cruises and he is the most entertaining. I do hope he is on MUSH next year. He will be the perfect entertainer for our group.

Oh, yes, if Kenny is aboard, Mrs. Moose, you may need to get there quite early to get a prime seat but the effort is worth it. He's a one-of-a-kind entertainer and you want to be front and center for this one.

I sure hope you will share a review of your cruise with us when you get back.

Maybe we should warn Mrs. Moose that his entertainment can be a little "on your face" ( just so she knows what she's getting into)?

Sorry, I must be one of the few people in the planet that doesn't care for his act. I saw him on Navigator 5 years ago so maybe he has changed it. Back then he was doing a lot of "bathroom jokes" and the like.

Oh please do warn me, if he does things putting stuff on you, that will be a big no no for both of us.

I can only imagine if you say, it's best appreciated from the "front row". No way.

No mind you I have a sense of humor (although it may not show here from the posts, but trust me, most people who talk to me in real life say I make them laugh even when they are sad).

I think we will stick to vodka to loosen us up, thank you. Now I've been warned, I will definitely be sitting in the back. :) )) thank you!!

Not sure how much entertainment we will take in either. The ship gets in real early and for the Juneau one the Tracy Arm leaves early and I need to be one of the first off in all the other ports so will line up real early to get of ASAP. Hubby won't miss any shore time for evening entertainment. I told him we have to go dancing a couple of times, but not sure about much of anything else. If I can't sleep I may go to one without him if it looks appealing.
We don't gamble so the casino is out for us. If there is light, hubby will probably be out trying to get some pics, so don't have any real expectations for the shows.

Thanks for the head's up on the Kenny Smiles, that is something I really appreciate.

In case there was any doubt that RSSC's mailings have nothing to do with number of days, cruises, or dollars spent; my daughter Sarah (who has a grand total of 7 days on RSSC) received her "tier letter" today. Some of you may remember she also received the "PG alumni letter" and she's never been on PG. Gretchen and I, on the other hand, have received neither; and we have done 14 days on PG and 48 total (I know that's not a lot but it's more than 7!).

The only thing I can figure is that Sarah was born in the Year of the Goat while Gretchen and I were both born in the Year of the Tiger and maybe Goats get letters and Tigers don't!

Not looking to beat this subject to death, but the mail thing can really matter. As i have mentioned we would never have found that "presidents cruise" (repositioning) on the web site. i nearly never check it, particularly if we are not in hot pursuit of our next trip. We got the letter, booked it yesterday, and was told today it is sold out. So if you are not wandering the web site, or checking this very informative board, you may feel like you missed out if it was something that you would enjoy. i just think consistency is a good thing.

I think I am having deja vue with sealover's lament. Posted on cc that this is totally ridiculous if she is not getting mailings. (I get very few of them too, never the new travel brochures) Same for others with 50+ days. (I think I have 100+ days) The staff from some of the ships maybe follow this board, but not the corporate office. As things are lately going, maybe better that corporate office does the same, particularly since we seem no longer to be able to reach Marc Conroy, as I tried many addresses last week to no avail for what I thought was a very important thread, only to help. I have never thought we should e-mail him for trifling things, and have said so in the past. There are a lot of issues concerning old customers. 5% discount is gone, except for select sailings, and some at 10. Now will we have to pay for early boarding that was always available before? Our feelings on priority restaurant reservations (please, no) are already apparent. We don't seem to want priority anything, other than maybe itineraries. PLEASE RSSC, FOLLOW THIS BOARD TO KNOW WHAT YOUR BEST CLIENTS PREFER! This board is full of Radisson afficiandos (okay, diehards), and we would love to have a dialogue with anyone who would listen to us an make us a part of your marketing plan..

Olivia,

To think that companies pay thousands of $$$$ to assemble "focus groups" and Radisson has a ready made "focus group" here, for free!!! We'll see if they take you up on your offer.

14 days on RSSC - received our tier letter today. We have received 1 copy of Inspirations in the past. Go figure. So confusing why RSSC is so inconsistent with their mailings.

Hmm--we have over 50 days on Radisson with another 35 or so booked and haven't received anything from them (except our cruise documents, of course) for months. We get almost weekly mail from several other cruise lines, including Silverseas--and we've never cruised on them. You're right Masaki, I'm confused too.

Another cruise line that's very good about keeping the public in the loop is Oceania. A year ago I requested one of their brochures and now I get their e-mails all the time with offers and their brochures, without asking.

BTW, their 2006 European cruises brochure is beautiful! Susan ( from B&K) says that the pictures in the brochure are a true depiction of what the ship looks like. WOW! I'm seriously considering doing my next cruise in Oceania.

I thought perhaps it was time to revisit this thread since Fall has nearly faded...

Seems to me that Radisson either needs to 1) announce the details of the new Seven Seas Society program, or 2) edit their web site again to change the statment that "The enhanced Seven Seas Society program will be fully launched in the fall and will be in place for 2006." Yes, I know that technically fall doesn't end until Dec 21, but what the heck is delaying this? You'd think they could define the program, figure out the economic consequences, and post the details in something under the nearly-a-year that it has been. If I were cruising on Radisson in early 2006 (perhaps already paid-in-full at this point), I'd wonder what the process will be to claim the (rumored) benefits of cabin upgrades, etc. Certainly, if I found out that under the new program I was eligible for, say, a 1-class upgrade it would determine my strategy for what level I book (like going from G to F on Voyager is inconsequetial...going from D to C on Mariner is very worthwhile). I can't fathom (seems appropriate here!) why they don't seem to understand that this inexplicable delay is causing some heartburn amongst their core of loyal repeat cruisers!

Scott,

When I spoke to someone in reservations a week or so ago, I was told that the new tier program would start early next year. The reason was that the office was closed for a period of time due to the hurricane which delayed it.

Peggy,

Thanks for the info. I (as I imagine many have) just received a Thanksgiving card from Radisson that says the details will be shared over the upcoming months which sure doesn't sound like it'll be before the end of the year. I cannot imagine what the delay is (hurricane was a week or two, max...they've been dragging this out for nearly a year!).

From what we were told on the Navigator by the Travel Consultant....details will be available sometime in the beginning of the year. Somehow I even throught I heard April mentioned, but I don't know who said that, but don't hold your breath, I don't think it will be in January. It would be nice to be surprised!

Cynic that I am, my guess if April has been mentioned it will probably after April 28th - the day the WC returns to Ft Lauderdale.

Peggy, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't unveil the plan first to those of you while you're on the WC, (Mark Conroy in the Constellation Theater like 2005 WC).

I have to agree with Peggy. Radisson probably won't release the tier program until after the world cruise as those are the people who would gain the most from it. That doesn't sound like good public relations to me. I am sure Mark Conroy will hear a lot of comments about it when he is in Los Angeles for the world cruise party.
