You can get 2 orders of white sturgeon cavier for that amount of money! We had lots of credits on our last cruise, so we had lots of cavier and got laundry and dry cleaning done (we're not quite up to platinum yet, so we still have to pay for laundry).

No wonder I didn't have a problem getting a spa appointment on my last cruise! Those prices are absurd.

After DINGO I am continuing on the next leg to SFO. Since I've already spent 5 days touring Auckland & surrounding area, I had been trying to decide what to do while there. Those new spa prices answers that question. Find a good spa that offers all needed services. Oh June, I'll be emailing you for suggestions.
My time in the ship's shop Xmas shopping will now also be limited.

I was just re-reading my review of my trip on the Paul Gauguin in 2003 - ok - $65 for a Facial - yes $65. So how did we get to $153 in 7 years? I dont think we have had 60% inflation in the last 7 years!

There's one thing for sure, use it or lose it is the policy. Wish I liked caviar and shopping on the ship more than I do! I think the spa is going to win out over another piece of pretty jewelry that I don't need, though! And I am SO happy to have my free laundry perk!

Ok - I might part with $200 out of the $1100 to go to the spa. I need the manicure so my hands look good for shaking Martinis (Todd Cosmos)!

I think the group running the spas in 2003 was Judith Jackson. And then Carita took over until last December when Canyon Ranch took over.

Canyon Ranch has the "reputation" and the prices to match!

Their prices are crazy, but on the Navigator, the re-do of the spa is really nice - very zen and calming. The exercise classes were better and more varied than on past cruises we've been on. And they gave "spa talks" on some of the sea days about different types of massage, fitness, nutrition, etc.

We both had deep tissue massages at the beginning of the cruise which put a huge dent in our credit.

I kept waiting for a discount to be offered as the cruise went on, but the most they ever offered was a 10% discount on certain treatments on port days.

Is everyone coming in the day before and shall we have a precruise dinner?

Karen, we are thinking of driving to Florida on 31st or 1st to see Arlene's mother and any friends around. We will probably stay the last night in Ft Lauderdale if we can find a reasonably priced hotel that includes parking during the cruise.

I'll be flying into Melbourne the 1st and we'll drive down to Ftl day of embarkation...I'll call you Betty!!
