Hello to everyone! It's been a long time since I have visited.
Hoping to be on the Splendor at the end of November. Anyone else? :)

Sheri, it will be great to see you again!!!!!! Arlene and I have decided to join you. With two cruises cancelled this year we are looking forward to some relaxing days at sea.

Have you booked your excursions yet? I don't think we want to go inside anywhere so we will probably just do boat and snorkel trips.

Marc

As Marc and Sheri know i am now on this trip on the Splendor, both the November 28 and the December 7 sailings. With the cancelling of the Mariner Alaska and other possible trips in the next few months I decided to escort the Splendor on these two cruises - alternative option to the original plans. . Not sending out a flyer or anything of that sort as no one knows if this trip will go or not but logically it looks good right now.

We are signed up for snorkeling trips mostly, so we will probably be with you. My friend Tammy has never been on a cruise, and never been on a plane. She is in for a treat!!

We just booked both cruises too. Can't wait to sail on the Splendor. Did not think it would happen this quickly. Way to go KLT.

I have concerns about booking a cruise before we know what the protocols will be. What happens if, after final payment, you learn that you will have to wear a mask whenever you leave your cabin, that you cannot drink at a bar, that you cannot have dinner with anyone who is not in your traveling party, that you couldn’t have LCT cocktail parties because it would exceed the permissible limit for gatherings? Mona and I would not cruise under any of those limitations.

I would be more comfortable if Regent told its customers that if it imposes any protocols with which you are uncomfortable then you can request a full refund.

Tom, Regent has; they will let you cancel 15 days in advance for any reason and get 100% FCC; I know it isn't cash but it is close.

Marc

PS I have the same concerns as you.

Thanks Marc. But I’m not going to take anymore FCC’s. They benefit the cruise lines, not me.

Even if I book with the FCC I have, it’s my understanding I would still have to layout cash for the deposit.

Once I know a cruise is actually going to sail and I know under which conditions, I will happily book.

Not that it changes anything very much but just so others also know you can use the FCC for the deposit as long as it is the 100% FCC and not the 25% FCC.

Hi everyone. Jim and Stacy McDaniel here. We have been following you all on LCT for about a year now, however the only folks we have had the pleasure of meeting in person are Jim and Pat Bittle. We hope to increase our circle of LCT friends now that we are booked on the Nov 28 and Dec 7 Splendor cruises out of Miami. We are very exited about being able to be aboard this almost brand new ship and meeting many of you!

Of all the Splendor Caribbean cruises thru the Dec 21 sailing, only the Dec 7 cruise offers Seven Seas Society discount. What's the reason (if any)? Anyone know?

Probably a popular time when they have full ships (normally) and The Splendor which would be popular - therefore less benefits.

Well I wasted a lot of money on pins this year so was not sure what to do. So a contest people come up with something new and then there is no pin for the trip. We all know as any cruise in 2020 is still in danger of being cancelled.

So I was thinking of using the SUITE pin for this trip. Date may not match but I love this pin and really want to use it. Maybe I can get a cocktail party in the Regent Suite if it is not booked. Then the pin would make sense even if the date is wrong. I had thought of one of these two acronyms. It is easier to refer to a cruise with a name.

Simply Ultimate In Travel Experience
So Uplifting Incredible Travel Excitement

So that was my plan to use the Suite pin and just come up with the acronym myself. But if you wish we can do a contest with the name SUITE and NAME is set but the acronym can change we could do that. That may not be as much fun. The "U" is the problem not many positive adjectives with a "U"

I had to giggle - not the normal word right now "intimate" as we are in a social distancing world. I love the idea of INTIMATE and want it to come back. I like HUGGING my friends with no mask.

Well, that word was there on purpose; I am hopeful that we will be able to do all of our group activities such as scrabble and cards and trivia and cocktail parties and revolving dinner partners and late nights in the Observation Lounge.

I can be an optimist at times.

28 Nov Splendor now waitlisted; I guess we filled it to the reduced capacity; still room on 7 Dec.

I think that is the issue. They have a reduced capacity now and I got a list of all available cabins so I knew what to ask for when making a new booking. I was surprised there were not that many cabins. The Splendor, the most likely first sailing, very popular.

Marc I loved your comment - I can be an optimist at times!!

Anyone purchase air to/from Miami? Delta finally is letting us cancel our post-TOTEM air for an e-credit but I don't know if I am ready to book the Miami air yet.

Do you think this will be a GO ?? I sure hope so. Our LA to LA Oct. 22nd (Mexico) was cancelled.

We have this RSSC FCC to use and we have no idea where, when, how? I do wish it wasn't limited to just Regent, we've never been on Oceania but heard good things and would be willing to try it.

What are others doing with their FCC ? Maybe we can tag along.

We booked our air to Miami with American miles. They were good about refunding when we cancelled our European flight earlier so I just went ahead. Trying to stay optimistic since our Splendor cruise in Greece just got cancelled (as Marc predicted). We are really hoping he is also right about his prediction that November 28 will be the first Splendor sailing!!

We put our FCC against our Navigator cruise next summer.

Do I think this will go? Hurtigruten just reported 33 crew infected. Crystal cancelled all 2020 cruises. Earnings call next Thursday will tell us a lot; I think I am going to wait to book air until after that call.

We are putting our FCC towards the Explorer’s Grand Asia Exploration in March (fingers crossed on that too). I see a few spots have opened up there. It was encouraging to see the Explorer moving across the Atlantic where it will be in a better position to start up its Spring schedule.

FdR said this morning that he still hopes to start in November or December with few ships and probably in Caribbean so there is still hope for this trip.

Where is everyone staying night before cruise? I think it is too risky flying in day of cruise so we will probably travel on thanksgiving.

I like the way you are thinking. We are flying in the day of but since there are no charges for changes we might change that. Looking forward to seeing you on board and meeting you in person.

These meetings with the CDC, the Covid Task Force and with the executives of the cruise lines are probably all holding up any decisions for November cruises. The meeting scheduled to take place today was postponed, Hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later.

Ngaire, tomorrow is 30 days to Voyager 2 November cruise. Regent should at least cancel all cruises starting in Europe; there is no way that American passengers can get there. Jason Montague is a very good (and smart) man; I can just imagine his frustration at how NCLH is running this.
