I know this was a hard decision Ngaire, but a wise one under the current circumstances. We are having to cancel our Hawaii trip, and I was just thinking this morning maybe we would look at Sept next year and since we would fly thru DFW to Maui, this all may work out perfectly timing wise, either go to Hawaii before, or on Monday after. We sure hate having to wait another year to see everyone, but glad the Omni was so good about rescheduling for you, thank you for working that out. This has been a challenging year for sure! Hope everyone is healthy and staying safe.

Everyone has learned a TON about airlines, change fees, cancel fees and having to wait for other things to take place. I hated to cancel knowing that everyone had air but really the right thing to do.

Jan and I were planning on doing a large extended road trip for Boots. Going to Carlsbad Caverns, Midland Texas, then head east to Frisco, After Boots head north through Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and home. Canceled all the hotels last night, and glad KLT is working on keeping the Omni Hotel reservations for us. Darn it anyway. Planned on golfing with Clay on Friday of Boots and my game has been so good lately. LOL. Maybe it will still be there next year.

Thank you Ngaire and all the KLT team. I think we all realize this postponement was the RIGHT decision considering the twilight zone we're in.
I'm happy we'll be reunited in September. Cyber Hugs to all.

I have cancelled over 60 nights of hotels this year; getting kind of ridiculous. We have one more trip for Arlene's grandnieces wedding in Colorado Springs in November; hopefully that one will happen (without snow). Maybe we should throw a bag in the car and head down I-10 to California; just have a road trip seeing people along the way. We have nothing really keeping us at home.

Marc, we are 10 minutes off the I 10, come visit. If Disney ever reopens we can go to Club 33. Maybe Marcie and Tom and Sue and Ray would join? ———————- Helen

So disappointed! We were finally going to get to come to an event. And we can't come next year because we have the Galapagos trip and the Crystal expedition trip with only 3 weeks between. Can't be off anymore during that time frame.

Noticed yesterday while on Omni Hotels that our BOOTS reservation was updated to the new dates and all looks in order. Looks like they did a good job taking care of the LCT group.

I have not received the updated list yet so happy to hear that this was done. Sure did make it easier for everyone.
I read that in Texas no more than 10 people can be in a vehicle to go to an event. My 50 person buses would not have worked! The bus companies will comply with that regulation. We had 160 for the actual event that would be 16 trips of 10 people. Would never work.

I checked my Omni reservation and the hotel had correctly moved our dates to September 2021. However the date to cancel without penalty was still showing as a date in October 2020. It was probably an oversight. I called the hotel and they corrected the error. Hopefully the hotel will check the other BOOTS reservations and correct any errors.

Update on the Omni Hotel. There is a glitch on changing the cancel date on the booking for September, 2021. They are trying to fix it. I have requested a letter from them ensuring that NO ONE in this group will be charged a cancel penalty if they cancel before 72 hours from check in from the new September date on your reservation. So do not worry about that cancel fee I will shoot them back their own guarantee.
The web page for booking is up again for those that cancelled and want to rebook and has the new dates.
The only thing that is "up in the air" is the Cowboys tour of the Star. Too early to reserve the date but I am on the list!

Our original AA flights are still showing a go. I'm still hoping there's a time change or cancellation to get a refund., too early to make a change of dates.
Come Hell or high-water we'll be there. Who knows what airline with the multiple FFC we have.

When I pulled it up it still had the old dates, but then I looked at confirmation section and when I went back the correct dates were there.

Well I was afraid of this. When "BOOTS" was cancelled from Oct this year to Sept next year I was worried that another deal I need to attend which was cancelled for this Sept to next Sept would be on the same date. Yep. Sorry that we had to cancel.

UPDATE - people are receiving an automated message from the Omni about their upcoming stay for this weekends BOOTS. I contacted the hotel and they said to tell everyone to just ignore this message. Everyone has a new booking for the correct dates in 2021. I have a master list with all the names.
On this note the weather right now is PERFECT - high mid seventies and lots of sunshine. Will be the same on Saturday. Hopefully the weather gods will be this nice to us again next year in September.

Marcie, aren't you and Tom retired? Have you thought of driving? Maybe even a mini-bus and pick up LCTers along the way (easy trip impossible to get lost). Of course, you could spend a couple weeks after BOOTS touring the south central USA ending up in Memphis in time for the River cruise.
Lots of options when you drive.

Yes 5;30 in the Omni Hotel bar is the first thing on the schedule. You will be receiving a tote bag of goodies and a full agenda on checkin at the Omni hotel.
Cannot believe it is now so close to Boots. Going to be a busy week and Ken and I are so looking forward to seeing everyone.

Will be sending out an email tomorrow on final details but the most important thing is that BOOTS will be super casual. It will be in the 90's so wear the light and comfortable clothing. Once the sun goes down the temperature drops and the evenings are lovely. We will mingle with drinks inside first and will start dinner a little later so it will be nice outside around the pool. You can wear shorts if you prefer.

For those flying in for BOOTS be prepared for some delays. Seems that all flights are much more prone to be delayed. June and I are stuck for three extra hours at JWA in Orange co due to flight being changed three times after we left house for airport. Not fun being a traveler these days
