Well about to walk out the door to fly to Hawaii - weather looks bad, heavy rain flash flood warnings. Hope we are not delayed.
I know many have already arrived and are settled in Honolulu. Looking forward to seeing the Mariner refurbished. Had a meeting with Regent yesterday and saw pictures of the new Splendor. They are using much lighter colors I think it is going to be a beautiful ship.

I’m about to disembark from the Pre- Hulu cruise. Having had a rather “relaxed” crossing Miami through Panama Canal to Acapulco, then avoiding hurricane cancelling Cabo and San Diego, and having lousy internet over that wide vast ocean for 8 days at sea. We are in Maui overnight and tomorrowand head to Honolulu tomorrow night to fly home and will miss meeting all of Ngaire’s new guests on this cruise. Wish more of you would join in on LCT so we can get to know you, the reason her chat board started a long time ago! I wish you all a good Voyage!
I love the changes in the standard cabins. All the orange is gone and grey and blue prevail. prime 7 is modernized in decor. Chartreuse is as usual, just “updated”. Pools deck ultra Casual now available as a Choice for dinner. Sette Mari about the same. (sp?)
Please, all enjoy your cruise! I’m going to miss all the ones onboard I’ve known for years!
PS. My friend Peggy Wolf is a fantastic trivia player and she’s on til Papeete! You will be lucky if you grab her!

Hope all the HULA cruisers have a wonderful trip. Jerel and I board in Papeete so we'll see those of you who are continuing on to Auckland.
Olivia, safe travels home!

George Losey is boarding the Mariner today as a lecturer. He gives great talks on reefs, fish and the oceans and is really interesting. He'll be on until Auckland. Check him out.

Nice to be back onboard. Great staff, Michael GM, John Barron, Vladimir, F&B. Eddie cruise consultant. Looks like it will be a very smooth crossing to Tahiti and also nice while we are in Tahiti.
Food has been great last night lobster and tenderloin. Tonight we have prime 7.
I think the ship looks great. So happy to see the glass cabinet on the wall and the return of the drawers in the sitting area. There are two drawers and then a shelf at the bottom. That space for us makes a big difference.
Prime 7 looks fantastic and very comfortable chairs. At least for me with a pillow at the back and not so big and cumbersome.
Lost my iPhone in transit. Just when I was going to use it to take and post pictures. The iPad is so much bigger to carry around.
Be back later.

Happy you're safely onboard and off to a great start. We were originally booked on that cruise so I'll certainly follow your journey. I think it's been years since we were on the Mariner but have such fond memories of previous cruises on her. Sounds like you have a great staff onboard too. ENJOY!
Sorry about losing your iPhone.

So our last day at sea before arriving in Nuku Hiva tomorrow. Crossing has been great, nice seas a tiny bit of rocking but very minimal.
People are enjoying the lectures. Good speakers.
The big hit has been the sessions focusing on Polynesian culture. Teaching hula dancing and the Maori haka and the biggest hit of all was making braclets and necklaces out of beads. Really beautiful large beads all the ladies are sporting their new jewelry with pride.
Food is excellent I have enjoyed the meals tremendously. Dennis our waiter is onboard and he knows me so well he could order for me.
Some really nice people are in this group that I had never met before. So enjoying getting to know them. Last night we had our cocktail party and the mingling between the group was outstanding. We drew eight names for the free cruise and the final drawing is in December on the circle Australia cruise.
No pictures yet but hope Ken got some shots from last night. May be able to get some up today.

Nuku Hiva. It was a nice day but threatening rain which as far as I know never came. The traditional greeting on arrival with the singing and drumming with the barely clad male handing out tiare flowers.
It was warm and humid. We walked to the church and we arrived between our ships tours so we were the only ones there. It was a long walk and I was really hot when I got back.
Ken continued on to photograph a giant tiki on a hill that was not here last time we came. When he came back to the tender the ship was buying fresh red snapper 50 kilos of fish. It is on the menu tonight so I will try it. Along with my special order of rack of lamb.
Another nice day at sea then we will be port intensive until debarking.
Ken is working on pictures now hope to post them today.

June, a really lovely person that everyone enjoyed. A lady named June was a fantastic success on this trip. She taught people about the Polynesian culture including dances and making jewelry. People received kits and made their own jewelry. It was almost standing room only in her sessions. This is a picture of one person's necklace, they were all different. The beads were hand painted. Really beautiful.

Thanks for the photos, Ken! Spectacular colors! Sheila and Ngaire look great! I've been to Raiatea 3 times and every time on Sunday; so never been there when it's "open".

Ngaire, I have loved all the pictures Ken has posted. The colors are brilliant. How well I remember the amazing aqua colors at Bora Bora. It all brought back wonderful, cherished memories of a certain cruise with a certain sister and brother-in-law in 2002 !!!! I believe that was the cruise I discovered my love for Veuve Cliquot at the behest of the Captain !!!
