Well not quite. The Serenity ends the trip in Rome. So maybe it should be called a Grand Voyage.

Still a great itinerary.

Mary Ellen,
Ray and I are booked on the last two segments, Singapore - Mumbai and Mumbai - Rome....The Serenity will undergo turning Cabins into Penthouse Cabins and lowering the passenger count to 800 (?) or so.
We went on a 20 day cruise last March on the RSSC Explorer and Loved it, only problem was their computer room only had 4 or was it 6 terminals ant the IT person had no knowledge of Apple/Mac computers. The lecturer was so terrible that Ray walked out. other than those two small things, every thing else was excellent. Loved the new menus in the MDR.
Look forward to seeing you and Jim again.
Pat and Ray

For what it's worth, there are additional desktops in the library on Deck 11. But the point is not really the lack of desktops available, it's that more and more passengers have their own devices to access the Internet.

Regarding lecturers, my experience is, as Forest Gump said, that it's like a box of chocolates. I've seen good and bad lecturers on Crystal, Oceania and Regent.

We just finished a cruise on the QM2 - a much larger ship, of course - and I was shocked at the quality and quantity of lecturers on a seven day cruise with only two at sea days. There were five guest lecturers - including Dr Ruth, yes that Dr Ruth - and Michael Kushner from Bletchley Park - plus a destination lecturer. One of the lounge entertainers was essentially a lecturer on the history of the electric guitar.

Anyway, you just never know what you're going to get!

Hi Pat,

I too look forward to meeting you, but it is Mary Ellen and Bruce. We did a 2007 WC on Regent and had a really fun time. On our 2005 WC Crystal Cruise I noticed a big difference in meeting people. So many on the Lido deck were into their digital realm. I felt uncomfortable making conversation while they seem so engrossed. Very different from earlier times.

Apple products are very much front and center, which for me was great. I have come to distrust anything Microsoft.
You will love the courses offered, (even a device to use if you don't have one).

The new configuration on Serenity only affected a few cabins. Not a big change in passenger count.

CruiseCredit.com has a Roll Call for us, why don't you join us. We are few now but hopefully more will find us.

Also they have a Meet and Greet you can sign up for and we can meet at in after we leave Sinapore. Also we discuss private excursions we might take together. Hopefully maybe more will join us on this web site.

14 months away, but planning anyway,

Mary Ellen
