Summary for June 29 to July 13.
Average air temperatures were below normal over most of the areas except the
Arctic Ocean where temperatures were near to above normal. Ice melt is near
normal over the Central Arctic and about 2-3 weeks earlier than normal over the
southeastern Beaufort Sea and Amundsen Gulf.

Weather forecast for July 13 to August 15.
Air temperatures are forecast to be below normal over most of the area.

Southeastern Beaufort Sea.

- 7-8 tenths first-year ice including a trace of old ice with areas of 9-9+ tenths
