Sailing in the Caribbean on the Explorer. Unfortunately this cruise is NOT following my plan. It was supposed to be warm (but so far it's been in the mid-70's), and calm (but so far we've been rocking and rolling in unusually high winds). The movement has been a challenge for me with my broken ankle, plus a lot of people have been sea sick. My plan was to spend my time reading on the balcony but we haven't even been able to go out there since we left Miami three days ago. The good news: the food has been fantastic and we have great company with Kathy and Al and Maria and Bob. We won trivia one day and bombed the next. Captain Stan says the weather should improve after we leave St.Kitts tomorrow so hopefully things will look up.

Ditto what Marcie said. We are in Fort Lauderdale and heading out on the Flower Power cruise tomorrow. We are not generally bothered by rocky seas but we left 43 degrees in Los Angeles (!) seeking warmer weather! Fingers crossed.
Peace and Love,
Helen

Arlene we are 90% sure we will book 2019. The dates look good for us. It would be such a blast (not to mention the grooviest) to go with a group of us “old-ish” hippies! Plus the “kids” Kim and Alice!

Happy to report that the world has righted itself for the time being. We now have warm weather and calm(er) seas. I'm sitting on the balcony, as planned, watching the activity in St. John's, Antigua. Tonight we move on to St. Lucia.

Glad the seas have calmed down for you. Say hi to Kathy and Al for me and George. We are currently rocking and rolling on the Tasman Sea on Voyager and it has nothing to do with being on a Flower Power cruise.

Our fun companions left the ship in Miami yesterday and now we're on the second leg of this trip as orphans:- (. We had a great trip with Al and Kathy and Bob and Maria. It's a sea day on the way to Cozumel and so far I've only seen one couple we know (Linda and Brian from Conroe, TX) so we immediately signed them up for trivia--we'll see if we can recruit a couple more people. The seas have been calm and the weather a little warmer (although not quite as warm as we'd like). With the dearth of companions to distract me, I'm hoping to finish reading my epic Ken Follett novel on this leg.

Oh Peggy, you know how badly we wanted to stay! Hope you have fun, meet some good trivia partners and finish your book. Remember, if you need to waste a few hours, just work on the Mensa Quiz. Haha. Hugs to Jerry and have fun!

We were fortunate to run into Pat and Ray Mongeau on the pool deck the other day. After years on LCT, this is the first time we've met in person. We had a great dinner with them and have another planned. Pat says they hadn't been on Regent for
several years but they're enjoying the Explorer. My opinion--the Explorer is very nice, but I prefer any of the other Regent ships over this one. I won't bore you with my list of reasons why...

Peggy, We agree with you about the Explorer, probably for the same list of reasons. Jim & Pat
