Is anyone considering the 2017 Regent World Cruise ??
We got the email today, Tom is definitely interested. I was actually surprised that the price seems reasonable considering the outrageous prices of the Explorer! We like the Navigator and know people who went on Radisson's first World Cruise on the Navigator and they loved it. Hmmmm.....

Really?? The Navigator? No forward observation lounge and vibrations on the aft of the ship. I personally am very surprised. Now I do realize that using this ship makes sense for Regent. Percentage of full world cruisers to segment cruisers will probably be much higher.

This cruise is a really good value for those that want a world cruise. I quickly calculated starting price at about $450 per day per person. Regent threw in a lot of great benefits including free medical, laundry and dry cleaning. My office has more bookings than I would have expected.
The navigator does have its issues with no observation lounge, but it is also a very intimate ship and can dock when other ships have to tender.
I did not think this would be such a hit but I think the value is compelling

Their offerings wipe out any benefit of being Platinum or Titanium.

I received a brochure yesterday and there's no talk about segments. Maybe they're hoping to fill the ship with full WC'ers before they consider adding segment options. We like the itinerary, similar to our 2005 WC but with lots of new places we've never visited.
Ngaire, do you think they'd offer an option to board in Los Angeles ?
Editing: I just got an email from Clay "World cruise sold 50 percent of the suites in first 10 minutes. Marcie you got suite 617"

Congrats, Marcie. You are in an ideal location as you know and on my favorite deck. Looking on the Regent website for the Navigator 2017 World Cruise, the Navigator, Grand and Master Suites are all waitlisted so far with the Deck 5 suites still guaranteed.
Jim, I noticed that about the perks. It's like the Tits and Plats perks are all there.

Marcie, we'll be there in Suite 633 (my favorite place on the Navigator which is my favorite ship). We're excited since even though we've been around the world probably more than once, we've never been on a World Cruise. I agree with you--the price is definitely right (at least for Regent). Glad to see Jan and Fred will also be onboard. Jim Bittle -- we'll be getting our Titanium benefits, so don't really worry about other people getting them--we'd love to see you and Pat join us!

Jim, you're right about Regent undermining Platinum and Titanium benefits. Getting more and more common. We've dropped our Explorer Med cruise in September 2016, replacing it with the Explorer's first transatlantic crossing that November. That cruise is a good value for Regent, and you and Pat like sea days. Give you a chance to see the new ship at a more reasonable cost! We're in 835; come on along!
[size=8]Too Many To List - 416 days & counting on Radisson/Regent, and 150+ days on 8 other lines, with one cruise booked next month on the Mariner, Miami to Honolulu 22 days

Marcie, I was looking at a Jeruslam to Miami leg with a east to west Atlantic crossing. Maybe it will come up.
