If this has been discussed, I apologize in advance, but I did a quick search and couldn't find it. (I thought that it had come up some time ago.) The Dress Code on the Regent Web site includes the following:
"The recommended onboard dress in the evenings is Elegant Casual resort wear. Formal and semi-formal attire is optional on sailings of 16 nights or more. Dinner dress includes skirt, or slacks with blouse or sweater, pant suit or dress for ladies; slacks and collared shirt for gentlemen. Sport jackets are optional. Jeans, shorts, t-shirts or tennis shoes are not to be worn at dinner. Ties are not required."
I called Regent to ask about this because I was contemplating taking my tux on Grand Prix since it is 17 nights. I was informed that Regent is now Elegant Casual on all cruises. Of course, I was told that I can still wear my tux, for example, for the Captain's Welcome Cocktail Party. However, Regent's representative also told me that the Daily Passages will not list anything but Elegant Casual no matter what the length of the cruise is.
I hope this is accurate information since now I guess I'll leave my tux at home.

Thats really interesting Eugene, since at one point fairly recently, there were two formal optional nights listed, and the guys in our group were planning tuxes as well.
I hope too that you got accurate information, as I would want to let the guys know in case they want to change their minds. I know Peggy said Jerry would be bringing a tux as well.

Maybe either someone else will check with Regent or Ngaire or somebody else at B&K knows the answer. One can always ask Conroy at Hee Haw . --------------------- Eugene

I think Ngaire told me the dates were the 10th and 24th at some point. Maybe someone else will chime in as you say and we can probably find out more next weekend.

The Final Cruise Vacation Summary for Grand Prix that I received from Regent recently shows the 10th and the 24th as formal optional nights. So bring those tuxes if so inclined.

I thought I had seen that somewhere Dave, now I know where it was, in addition I think Ngaire also mentioned it at some point. I couldn't find it in the document book, but that is definitely where I saw it. Thanks.

From what you guys are saying and from what Ngaire told me, I think the Regent agent was misinformed. I specially asked if Daily Passages would ever indicate anything other than Elegant Casual and she said no it wouldn't. That obviously doesn't seem to be the case of what we should expect.

I don't know what happened to the thread where we were discussing the dress code As stated above, I believe it was clarified by Ngaire that the second (Captain's Welcome) and second to the last (Captain's farewell) nights will be "formal optional". As we rarely dress up at home, other than the occasional charitable affair, we're trotting out the finery. Gotta amortize that tux!! If you bring your formal wear Eugene, you will not be alone!

Agree Suzanne, we hardly ever have a chance to get really dressed up and I do love a man in a tux. so always love it when Frank can wear his. Bring it on Eugene, as Suzanne said you won't be alone.

Thanks, Ngaire, but it probably doesn't really matter! If we want to dress up, why not? I doubt we would be asked to leave a public area after 6pm because we were over-dressed!

Absolutely correct!
Except on one non Regent ship (the cruise line will remain nameless) on a FORMAL night where you could eat more casual in the buffet restaurant upstairs. We saw someone dressed formally turned away from the casual restaurant and told to eat in the dining room because of their dress as formal wear was not acceptable in the casual restaurant. I have never forgotten that I could not believe it.
That WILL NOT be a problem on Regent.

Good point Suzanne.
On CANADA last year there was a fairly large group of delightful people I think from Britian, and they seemed to be celebrating several birthdays as they had a section in Stars reserved several nights and had signs saying "Big "0 Birthday", anyway my point is that on several nights they were dressed to the nines in tuxes and gowns, and I personally enjoyed seeing them all dressed up.
I know I am probably among the minority, but as I said above we don't get much opportunity to dress up anymore, so we take advantage of it whenever possible. Frank always wears a shirt, tie and jacket on the Captain's and Seven Seas nights at the very least, but I have noticed among LCT'ers no matter what, everyone dresses nicely and within the guidelines.
Thanks for double checking on this Ngaire, will be interesting to find out what you hear and if its now different.

Ken and I will be country club casual every night I "might" take a jacket for Ken but that would be as fancy as we go.

For sure Jerry will have his tux and his white dinner jacket -- we love dressing up too.
