Super Shuttle for TWO about $50 ($25 each) pick up multiple people around the same and take to different hotels. A van for 7 is $90 and up to 7 can share that. Book it on line!

ALL those restaurants are just across the street from the hotel you should just wander over there in smaller groups and all kinds of food is available.

Friday night my daughter is hosting a dinner for the family group that is going to Africa in July 2013. Ralph, Brayden, Jim and Pam and my family. This gives everyone a chance to meet so I wont we wont be "at dinner" on Friday but participating in everything else of course.

The restaurant at the hotel I thought was amazingly well priced with a very big menu - from burgers to steaks, pasta, pizza and everything in between.

FYI on the restaurants close to the hotel and also the Sunday night dinner.

Ken and I went to check all the restaurants in this area and compare their private rooms as an option for dinner on Sunday night. Just wanted you to know that the One 2 One restaurant also looked really good. The food people had looked yummy. So if you are not into Italian this would be an excellent option. They are literally right across the street from each other. The burger joint had the best hamburger I have had in years. Not fancy but great burgers.

We have about 50% responses so far and already have 42 people for the Sunday night farewell dinner. More than I anticipated.

I was hoping we could all just order from the menu at one of these restaurants keeping costs down for everyone. It worked so well at The Keg last time but that is too far away and we had far fewer people. However because of the number of people we have they all insist on a set menu and most people do not like a set menu. The private rooms are okay but not great in any of the restaurants

Comparing costs for the meal at the restaurants it comes out about the same price as the Country Club making the Stonebriar Country Club a hands down winner.

The club is a much better atmosphere it is one of the best clubs in Dallas and we will have a lovely private room overlooking the golf course. Out the back door of the hotel - cross the street and we are at the club. Dress is just like on Regent - elegant casual. Clay eats there all the time and he said the food is really good. Rather than a set menu we will do a buffet that gives more choices for everyone. We will have a private cash bar.

It is a wonderful place for a great farewell dinner!

Thank you Ngaire and Ken, great plan. I prefer a nice CC with a view rather than a private closed in room at a restaurant. Ask Clay how their Manhattans are.

No way Clay would know how good the Manhattans are, I doubt he has ever had one in his life. Not much of a drinker, doesn't like wine, drinks beer now and then but he likes some of the other type of drinks similiar to Cosmo's.

I do suggest those that want to go to dinner meet up in the bar and then go over for dinner in smaller groups. No larger than eight at a table works best. The Tex Mex, Italian, Mediterranean, Steak Lovers, Burger lovers can all get together and go to the restaurant of their choice. Best not to overload one restaurant at the same time. I think many of you may eat in the hotel it is a good and VERY diverse menu.

I can see it now "in this corner" TEX MEX is starring in this corner "BURGERS try to compete" So many choices!

The restaurants are ALL close to each other and the hotel can direct you in the right direction and we will give you all a little map of which way to turn for each restaurant.

Ken and I will all be coming by the Westin to pick up the Turners, Ralph and Brayden for the family safari dinner at my daughters house. We may come over a little early to visit with everyone for a while before we leave. Probably about 5.30 pm and will come to the bar. It is a very large bar and room for everyone.

IT is MUCH bigger than it appears in this picture and they serve food in here from the same menu as the restaurant. That is just one corner of the bar.

I've been so late on this but I've finally got our plans together. We arrive Friday at 1:15 pm on the American flight from Washington National, and depart Monday at 2:30 pm. I'm going to rent a car and use a free night I have from National.

Mona and I also would be interested in dinner Friday evening.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Tom.

Tom:

I think that the plan is to meet in the hotel bar before dinner on Friday night & sort out the who & where at that time. Not 100% sure, tho.
It will be great to see you two.
We get in a wee bit before you & leave about the same time.

Doug

Yikes - Tom, save your free rental day for an expensive rental - you can find coupon codes for a free weekend day all over the place - even on National's own website - or try Flyertalk's National forum.
