Happy New Years to all from the Paul Gauguin!

We are on our way to Rangiroa (sp?) for New Years. Yesterday we saw the children of Raietea and they were everything you said they would be and more.

The ship is full and there are a number of children. The crew has been delightful. We have experienced some downpours but it hasn't dampened our spirits.

Have a great 2006!
Miriam

So glad you're having fun, Miriam. Do you have to take all those beautiful decorations down once you are home? Better have lots of fun on the ship. Thanks for reporting and Happy New Year to you, too.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts! We are now in Bora Bora and just completed circling the island on the waverunner. Pictures do not do this place justice. Bloody Mary's is closed for the holiday.

We suffered a minor mishap in Rangirea - I slipped and my beach bag submerged. Aside from the srapes and bruies on my leg and arm - the biggest casualty was my digital camera. Fortunately, the camera guy (Stuart), was able to download what I had on the card. Tried to blow dry it (mom's new camera that I gave her for Mothers day). Guess she will be getting an upgrade when we get home. All is not lost, I packed about 4 underwater/sports camera and we will just use those.

As for the holiday decorations - they will be waiting for me. Actually it is faster to take them down than put them up.

Much happiness and good health for all in 2006!

Sorry to hear of your mishap and loss of your mother's camera, Miriam. Glad to hear your fall was nothing serious.

I know you will continue to have a wonderful time, despite it all.
