Hi from the Navigator in the middle of the Atlantic.

It is day 3 and the weather is glorious.

To get it over with my complaints.
1. clock change at 2 in the afternoon. I don't need another hour of sleep. Two reasons put on that they are doing this - a) ship goes a little slower during the day so another night time hour speeds up the process b) one less hour that the crew needs to deal with the passengers.

2. Cruise Director - Paul - almost non-existent. Other than enrichment lectures not much planned. (Not that I attend much - but still.)

3. Bingo at 12:15.

But now for the great things. Got a warm greeting from a lot of the staff. There are 261 passengers of which 180 are repeaters. I know about half of these from the Diamond and last year's Navigator crossing.

New chef who is very accommodating. Fellow passenger asked if he could make Eggs Sardou. Told him how and we had it this AM. He is Scandanavian and his food shows that and since I am not much of a fish or dill person, sometimes have to put my own dishes together. Last night I had the veal cutlet but without the gravy and with the spatzle from the beef dish. Really good, recommend this combo :)

Shuffle board challenge is now not crew vs. passengers but a combo which seems to be working. I don't participate but am a cheerleader.

The only entertainment is musical - no comedian or magician and the musical stuff makes me go to sleep as soon as the lights so down. But that is fine as I go to the Navigator lounge and listen to Tonee Valentine.

Jerry is at Portofino. Have reservations for that tomorrow.

Today was the lobster barbecue lunch - not the biggest lobster fan but they had the best ribs I have ever had on Regent. I will have to tell the chef.

Ice Social is now - an I HAVE to go. Have any of you had the peanut butter ice cream. It is really to die for. Just love it. Could order it for dessert every night but don't need that much of the good thing :)

Will check in later.

Great to hear from you! I was wondering how the Navigator would be for a crossing. Hope you continue to send seamail as you cruise on!

Ok it is now day 4 and the weather is not terrific - cloudy and chilly enough that you cannot sit out on deck which for me is the worst.

Chef is really doing some interesting things. Last night I had a sirloin steak with these cube things sitting on top very prettily arranged that looked exactly like mango and pears with onion confit. Thought is was very interesting combo and then I realized that potato and turnip.

There is a comedian on board - Marty Brill - had a show last night - it was ok. I'm from NYC too and I hope I don't make as many bad jokes :)

Like I don't get enough food - need to do the pasta lunch :)
