Hi, all: It's taken me all this time to fight through the frustration of trying to communicate on this computer!! I know you all have heard about our piracy incident so I won't got into it now but let us just say it was a very scary thing. Never in the world did we think anything like that would ever happen on a cruise. I think Mombasa has lost the cruise trade as a result. All the bullet holes and grenade holes have been plugged up and the big windows in the Observation Lounge reeplaced (except for one) so you relly wouldn't know anything had happened.
But everywhere we go officials board the ship so I guess it really was a big deal. Next stop is the Maldives and we'll probably be interviewed again. Didn't realize when we were interviewed by Cnn that it would be going out all over the world! Yikes. Norm over on CC on the Seabourn board has posted pictures, etc. so you can read all about it from him. Ship is fine but I still love Radisson for a number of reasons. Will explain on MUSH if not before. Jean & Clyde

So great to hear from you, Jean, and that you are okay! Hope you'll tell us all about your cruise long before MUSH, especially for us non-MUSHERS!

Hope you are able to enjoy the rest of your journey!

Jean,
So glad you were able to post. We were all so worried about you and Clyde, until that is we saw you on our TV news and you both looked so relaxed just as a couple on vacation should look! I hope that aside from the tragic scary piracy incident that the rest of your cruise has been and will be fabulous. Beautiful beaches on the Maldives if you haven't been before, hope the reporters will let you all kick back and relax. Good luck and thanks for posting.

Jean: You and Clyde get the "grace under fire" award. Glad you're making the best of the trip. Enjoy the rest of it and have a safe journey home. You're already beyond your "excitment and danger" quotas!! Cheers, Anne

Jean, You and Clyde, fellow-cruisers, and ship staff went through such a harrowing and frightening situation. We were intensely glued to the news to hear the details. To say we are greatly relieved that the outcome was far better than it could have been would be an understatement. So pleased you have taken the time to post.

I hope the rest of your journey is smoothe sailing, relaxing and "uneventful." Take care!

So glad you have reported in. Somehow I missed every interview you gave. Always seem to be watching the wrong channel.
Sounds like the remainder of the cruise will be all you expected.
Continue to enjoy - but I know you will.

Jean, words cannot express the horrible feeling of knowing that you were on that ship, nor of the relief of realizing that you were safe. Thank you for checking in, please don't wait for MUSH to share the details.

By the way, you are very photogenic for pirate attack survivors. Just amazing how great you looked on TV.

Jean and Clyde: You are celebrities in north Florida!!! Of course, I must have said fifty times "Oh I have cruised with Jean and Clyde"...please do not make us wait till Mush to hear about Rad vs Seabourn - by the way we have 9 strong from Ponte Vedra (all new cruisers) joining Mush -

Ah my adopted MOM and DAD are safe and sound. Ken saw the interview on the TV in the lounge in Sydney - I was in the ladies room so I missed it. He said they looked great. Thanks for checking in Jean all of us who know you love you and were thinking about you. Your attitude is fantastic. On MUSH we will have to have a "Jean and Clyde" session - piracy at sea - what was it really like.

Jean - so glad to hear that you and Clyde are well. Watched the pictures and read the interviews ... :) I know your motto is "Never pass up an opportunity
to go for a joyride" but that might have been more of a joyride than you anticipated! Looking forward to the details when you get a chance and definitely looking forward to seeing you and Clyde again on MUSH!

I am truly humbled by the caring people on this Board. You have no idea how grateful I (we) am to be alive and well. I've been simply amazed bythe coverage of this incident. I haven't seen any of it, darn it! Thank you all for caring. I do want to tell you all about it but this computer business has me so frustrated I can't do it here. Next time we'll have a lap top. Oh, Marcie, btw, Jan and Harry (forgot their last names) say Hi. They were on the WC and remember you. Love you all.

For those aboard Voyager, talk to Robert Morris and Donna McInnis. They were aboard Spirit when she was attacked and their stateroom to a direct hit from an RPG. The story that Seabourn is telling doesn't tell the real story.

Dougburns: Would love to know what you have heard in the news that you feel was suppressed by Seabourn.

Thanks Jean! Sure I know Jan and Harry! Jan and I were on the same trivia team for almost 4 months! Nice couple! I had no idea they were on that harrowing cruise with you!

Welcome Home!

Seabourn has said that no passengers were injured and they didn't really fess up to the fact that the crew let the boats get to close before reacting and increasing speed. Donna McInnis took shrapnel in the right arm. She and Robert Morris' stateroom took a direct hit from an RPG. I didn't get the facts from the news, but from an extensive e-mail from Robert Morris. He gave quite a different story than what Seabourn put out. He's an experienced cruiser with over 500 days at sea on a number of lines. He did say that once the attack occurred, and it shouldn't have, that the crew did a great job of looking out for the pax.
