Today we’re at sea so it’s nice to relax. Yesterday we were in Maputo, Mozambique which was really a complete waste of time unless you were one of the many passengers who did an all day safari to Kruger Park. This is very 3rd world and we took the shuttle into town but never got off….just didn’t feel safe nor was there anything worth seeing. It was fine though, we came back to the ship and I went for a pedicure then played Texas Hold’em and I won!

Last night we had a wonderful birthday party for our friend Joan. There were about 30 of us upstairs in the side of LaVeranda that is normally closed at night. The food was fantastic and the entire staff made it such a special party for Joan and all of us with fantastic decorations. Huge thanks to all of them! We played a fun game where you had to use a sling shot and try to hit a giraffe. (We used little boxes of Regent matches as the ammunition). If you hit an Impala you automatically lost your turn. Each team was made up of 7 people and named one of the big 5….Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Elephants and Rinos. I was on the Buffalo team and our team was pretty lousy. We each got 3 tries. It was so much fun and I laughed till I cried just trying to figure out how to work the sling shot. The elephant team won!

All continues to go great. Tom is so happy because in Cape Town Lars made sure there was a restock of some of his favorite wines. I’m happy because my team has won trivia 2 days in a row! Different things that keep us so happy.

We have a couple of sea days and then we’ll be in Mombasa, Kenya on Monday where we have a complimentary excursion for all the full WCers. There were a couple of excursion choices but we chose one called “Amboseli in the Shadow of Mighty Kilimanjaro”. We fly on a small charter plane to Amboseli National Park for a game drive and lunch at the lodge.. Amboseli is at the base of Kilimanjaro and known for its cheetahs, lions and leopards. It will be a long day but we’re really looking forward to this!!

Off to dinner with Amy Baker (she's the one who got married to Greg on the '05 WC when Capt. Dag performed the ceremony at sunset. She is now back on board as a FABULOUS singer headliner. Tomorrow I'll try and post some pictures.

Winning trivia and restocked wine! What could be wrong with that?!? Sounds wonderful, M! Thanks for sharing.
