Just minutes ago, we reached the mouth of the Amazon River. Looking out the window, the water looks pretty brown and ugly.
Yesterday was another great “winning†day for Tom and me. He won the Texas Hold’em tournament again, for the 2nd day in a row. I won at Bingo again (the big letter X) so I’m now 3 for 3 at Bingo and over $400 ahead. Hope all this good luck continues! We ate dinner last might with Paul (worldcruise2005)and Hans and 2 of the Peter Grey singers. After dinner went to the show for just a few minutes (good singer but too sedate to hold my attention so this is why I always sit in the last “escape rowâ€). Played Black Jack in the casino and had a winning night for a change. STARS is still very quiet at night but we’re trying to liven it up a bit. Night before last they played Salsa music and this was lots of fun. There were about 30 of us dancing which is a great turnout for STARS.
Steve (circleboy) has joined our afternoon Texas Hold’em games. It’s too bad that he and his wife Linda will be getting off in Manaus….such a nice, fun couple who fit in perfectly with our very friendly group on board.
We received a beautifully done 2007 World Cruise catalogue. Lots of great complimentary excursions offered next year. As in previous years, some will be for the Full WC’ers only and some will include both full and segment passengers. It is interesting that both the Voyager WC and the Mariner SA trips will begin the same day…January 9, 2007 BOTH FROM FT. LAUDERDALE.! It gets better as the following day both ships will meet again at the private island of Princess Cays, Bahamas so all the passengers from both ships will be combining for a fun bar-b-que on the island. How fun will this be!! It reminds me of when we had an open house with the PG last year in Tahiti and we were all tooteling back and forth between the two ships.
Tonight is our Amazon Jungle night at Latitudes….should be another fun night! The food has been excellent so far. Slowly getting to know more of the Mariner staff. They’re pleasant but seem more reserved and less approachable than the officers on the Voyager. Our Cruise Director John and the Cruise Hostess Tammy are certainly the exceptions….they’re both just great and very good at what they do. We’re counting the days until Joanna, Tony, Ngaire and Ken board.!
Off to eat breakfast in LaVeranda now……. bye guys!

Thanks for the report Marcie - I'm sure before you get off that ship, you will know everyone onboard and I'm sure you will have livened up STARS quite successfully! Congratulations on the wins!

Beth, I forgot to mention that I received a voicemail from your Mom (I think it's your Mom right?) I've since left her 2 messages but we haven't hooked up yet. Tough as it seems neither of us are in our cabins so we play phone tag. I wanted to suggest lunch today....hope we hook up! How long is she on for?
Talked to some people who went to Latitudes last night and they said the Amazon theme night was lots of fun and great food. Looking forward to it tonight!

Marcie, Terry isn't my mom, but she and her daughter cruised with my mom and me on the Mariner to Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Hope you all can get together. She is a lot of fun. I think she is on the ship until Callao. I believe she was on the SA cruise that Olivia and Todd were on a few years ago. Send her my best.
