Came across this article reference on CC about enhancements that Oceania is implementing. It seems as if they are adopting more of Regent's practices, which I suppose is not surprising given the same parent company. See Oceania Upgrades .

I've been saying I think there is going to be some kinds of melding of the two lines. Oceania as Regent Light.

I feel that to be more like Regent, Oceania will also have to become more all-inclusive. Included wine or beer with meals (if not open bar), gratuities included -- less nickel & diming like the mainstream cruise lines. Think Azamara!
We'll be on the Insignia in March for a T/A crossing, Buenos Aires - BCN; we'll see if the changes have been implemented then (but maybe not until Europe 2011 cruises).

I hope the differentiation of the two lines is all inclusive versus pay as you go. I hate the all inclusive for certain trips. We have never done Oceana because we like the suites in Regent's ships.

That's what I would like too, Andi - Oceania as the old Regent before all inclusive.

With the new ships and the shuttles, Oceania may become an option for us. We'll see. I have no problems with Regent, I just don't drink and would like to have a less expensive option that is as nice as Regent.

It does become a time when you just have to think about what that extra glass of wine is *really* costing.

It would be super if O included gratis house wine and beer at dinner.
Also super would be Happy Hour at the Waves bar at the pool. Why in Horizons and Martinis but not at Waves?

I just can't get into two weeks or more of included tours. I like to go where I want to go and not with 65 folks. The folks on Dingo were wonderful, but it is irritating waiting for 65 folks to get on and off a bus. As Ngaire mentioned, it may be worthwhile to compare prices and then still do our own thing and stick with Regent. We'll look at it a case by case basis.

Oceania cruises are an amazing company. I have only cruised with them once but wouldn't hesitate to again.

I have never been with Regent, can I expect to achieve the same level of satisfaction with a cruise holiday with them?

Never a failure, but always a lesson.
