Sounds wonderful Dave! The Texas heat finally got here this week. Still haven't hit 100 yet, but it was in the 90's that past couple of days and NO RAIN! Finally got some pool time in on Thursday, but yesterday I worked on doing hip reduction. I painted all day yesterday, and worked my @$$ off! LOL Should have burnt plenty of calories though.

Weigh in was today and I am down another 2 lbs, with one more week before my one year anniversary on this journey.

How did everybody else do?

Don that is great! cheer

Did you have to ask how the rest of us did!!! I gained half a pound :b: - we were in Tennessee all weekend with Toms brother and his wife (they were down there from Wisconsin house hunting - you know how that is) and we were eating out every meal for 3 days. I must admit I was pleased it was just half a pound and not anymore! :)

Hi Don,
I'm just now "catching up" with LCT since returning from FJORDS - congratulations on your continued weight loss (wish I could say the same!). Also, best of luck on your move. The two things I've missed the most since leaving Dallas (besides all the wonderful friends we left behind) are good Mexican restaurants and the one stop shopping of Central Market. At least you'll have both of those in Austin!

Thanks Sue! Also, 1/2 pound is pretty good considering. Like you said, it sure could have been worse!

Thanks Kathy! Oh, you have to love Central Market! If they don't have it, it probably doesn't exist. I am needing coconut flour (never even heard of it) for a recipe, so I'm going to check for it at CM this week.

Don, you are the poster boy for successful weight loss! Great job!!

Sue - that's nothing, probably just salt. It will be gone in a flash.

As for me, I'm still playing around with the 4 lbs I gained on FJORDS, but I've re-dedicated myself this week and am feeling great. One thing I found out tonight - I can get the gym towel around myself without gapping!! Trust me - that's a huge victory!! ;)

Andrea, you've done really well since returning from FJORDS. I'm still carrying all of the weight I gained on the cruise and maybe a pound or 2 more (been afraid to get on the scale). I'm back to the gym this week and my low carb diet. I also see you're trying SeaDream. We did SeaDream II in 2/06 in the Caribbean. I'll be anxious to hear what you think of it when you return.

Don, if you can't find coconut flour at CM they have it at netrition.com

Dave, great job on not gaining on your Tahiti vacation!!

Thanks Andrea! Poster boy, huh? Just be careful where you put that pin! ;) LOL

Kathy, I will check it out if I can't find it at CM. I did see the Bob's Red Mill also makes it, so I should find it just fine.

Way to go Don and Andrea! Keep it up Sue and Kathy!

I'm down 4 lbs since we got home. I think most of that was just settling back into the routine and our regular diet. Still feels good.

Well, sticking to my plan really does work! I am down an amazing 6.8 lbs this week!!

That's the few lbs I gained on FJORDS as well as a couple of others. I am sure it's a lot of water weight, but it is inspiring, because I've now lost 87.5 lbs in 47 weeks! :woh:

I also finally got a Polar heart rate monitor, and let me tell you, I love it! It is great to know that I'm exercising in my weight loss zone as well as a giving me a better indicator of calories burned.

Dave, congratulations on your loss!! Vacation and traveling are great, but it's nice to be back to a normal routine too.

Come on Kathy - get back up on that horse!! You can do it. We are very excited to try Sea Dream. Let me know if you have any tips!

Don, I'm sure you will have good news for us with your next weigh-in results.

Sue, how are you doing?

Keep up the losing everyone!!

Kathy, my commiserations! I just got back from 10 days of total veg-out at the cottage (actually too hot to do any exercise other than swim), and big breakfasts every morning. And this morning we went out and bought fresh bagels lox and cream cheese for breakfast. I too am afraid to get on the scales.

Congratulations to Dave, Andrea, Sue, and Tom! Great week!!!

Well today is our 36th anniversary! It was one year ago today while we were lounging around the hotel pool that I vowed to do something once and for all about my weight. So I started back the very next day. Well today was my one year anniversary weigh in. Last week I lost another three pounds for an anniversary total of 114 lbs! In addition, I have lost 14 inches in my waist and now I am only three pant sizes away from wearing the same size pants as I did in high school. Which btw, was just a couple of years ago! ;) LOL

Last year at this time I would get winded just walking to the mailbox and now I either walk 3-4 miles or bike 9-10 miles each day as well as doing weight resistance training. I am feeling so much younger and have so much more energy than I have had in ages! cheer

Happy Anniversary Don and Diana!!!

Don, happy anniversary to the beginning of your weight loss journey too!! 114 lbs is amazingly incredible!! You know how proud and happy we all are for you.

I had a pretty amazing day myself. I had my first physical since 2004. My NP was so thrilled with my blood test results - my cholesterol has dropped from 230 to 185!!! My HDL, LDL and triglycerides are all in the normal range. 3 years ago she put me on Zocor, but I stopped taking it after I'd lost about 30 lbs, so she was even more impressed. Even my blood pressure is normal. This was the first time in years that I actually was looking forward to a doctor's appointment!

I don't check in here very often, but have to say that I am truly inspired by all the successes for this group! Good gosh, stick with each other even after you reach your goals to help the others! Best thing is that everyone's health is improved. Nothing worse for good health (other than smoking) is a few extra pounds. Don and Andrea, congrats on your enormous losses and GAINS in good health you have related, but to the others who have met their goals as well! As one who struggled with weight for years during puberty (and finally stopped eating candy and sugar soda), and after 4 pregnancies (hardest 15 pounds I ever had to lose), I have been there only in a small way and thought those were big victories! Kudos to all of you, and keep it up!

Congrats to all you Losers! I haven't been doing much losing but at least I haven't been doing much gaining either. The summers are tough with all the travelling and the company coming to town.... You all know the excuses!
I am outta here Thurs early am for a (mass market) Med cruise with my sisters and nieces. Wish you all well while I am gone. Happy Anniversaries to you, Don!

No, but at least now with all that blubber gone, it shouldn't take over 20 lbs of weights to get me to sink when I'm diving, nor should I have to find a BC vest the size of the Titanic! LOL

Also, I want to thank everybody here for all their support. Y'all have really kept me motivated.

Andrea, that is great news! It is amazing how getting thinner and exercise cures a myriad of health issues. I had severe sleep apnea, and for the past 8 years had to sleep with a c-pap machine to regulate my breathing, but no more since I lost the weight!!! That was one piece of luggage that I was glad to get rid of!

I finally got around to getting on LCT after several days and just thought I would pop on here with an update. Lost another 3 lbs last week and am down 117 lbs. However, I'm trying to slow it down and have been raising my carb intake to try to lose it more slowly.

This afternoon, I went shopping again and bought clothes another couple of sizes smaller. Thank goodness the Haggar Outlet had some good deals, otherwise I could go broke losing weight. LOL

Wow Don, that's great. Clothing budget gets to be a problem, doesn't it? Heard you cancelled CROSS--not surprised what with the big move.

My diet is nowhere. No control, not even exercising. I will get back on the bandwagon soon, I promise.

I haven't had much time to keep up here, but Don and Andrea, you are doing fantastic!

After living on fast foods most of the time for the last five months, I went to the doctor for regular checkup. I have walked off six pounds, so I'm just really happy.

Thanks Wendy, Sue, and Pam!

Wendy, we tried to hold out as long as we could. We were really disappointed that we had to cancel. It just became inevitable. Too much going on.

Pam, congratulations! Feels great doesn't it?

I am posting this from BEAUTIFUL Breckenridge where it is sunny and cooooool!!!! Sure beats the Texas heat! Went from 100 degrees to the 60's during the day and in the 40's in the evening! Diana is suffering a little bit from high altitude sickness and I had to take it a little easy the first couple of days on my workouts due to the thin air, but did get 45 and 13.1 miles in on the bike in this morning.

Now, here is a really stupid question. Is it possible to weigh less at higher altitudes??? They had a doctors (weighted) scale in the exercise room. It weighed 9 lbs less than the weight on our digital scale at the house and that was with 4-5 lbs of clothes on. I don't think the other people would have wanted to see me strip down to weigh in! So, it really means about a 13-14 lb difference. I checked to make sure that it was balanced, and it appeared to be. I always knew that our scale weighed a little heavier, but not that much heavier. Well, I guess if it is going to be any direction, I would prefer it to weigh heavier than to find out that I really weighed more than it was registering.

Oh Don please send us some of that cool CO air and temps!

How wonderful that you weigh less on their scales - that is really fantastic.

As I told you in a PM we are REALLY sad you had to cancel CROSS, but moving is a big deal and takes priority. We only hope we can sail with the two of you in the near future!!!

Keep up the great wt loss - you really have helped to inspire Tom and I and we thank you! :app:

Hi everyone!!

Pam, congrats - walking is great exercise!! I hope everything else went well at your doctor's appointment too.

Don - that's wonderful!! I don't know if there's a reason, but I bet it was exciting to see such a low number on the scale.

I am back from Italy and actually lost 2 lbs while I was gone, so I have now lost 91 lbs!!

My one year anniversary is coming up in a few weeks, so I am hoping to hit 100 lbs lost by the end of the month. Sometimes I still can't believe I've actually lost this much weight!

Wow Andrea! In Italy no less!!! That is an accomplishment.

We got back in last night from Breckenridge and today was weigh in. Lets just say that I liked the scale in Breckenridge better than the one here at home. However I was happy to find that I managed to leave one of my pounds up on the mountain last week. I was actually shocked considering how much food and wine I had.

I also measured today (I do that at the beginning of each month) and found I am down 3" in my waist since July 4th! <img border="0" alt="[vhappy]" title="" src="graemlins/icon_vhappy.gif" /> I knew by my clothes, but it feels even better to see it on the measuring tape!

Andrea - you go, girl. Very impressive!

Pam - Congratulations! Six pounds is a wonderful start. Keep up the good work.

Don -rent that scale out to the rest of us. Think of what you can charge for the first week after a cruise. Maybe it'll be enough to pay for a cruise for you and Diana!

Cheers, Anne

Anne, that scale in Breckenridge might not be magical afterall. I stepped on the scale at the gym yesterday (which I have never done before)and it also weighed me several pounds lighter than our home scale. Bummer, I could have used the extra cruise funds! LOL
