We flew on Southwest Friday afternoon to Ft Lauderdale - their fares are great and planes very nice - wide leather seats - very comfortable - 1 hr 10 min flight - we stayed in Weston 25 min from airport, a planned community, I think Arvida - we have Sawgrass here in PV another Arvida community - of course, you can't have lots of signs around so we had trouble finding our hotel - we (just two of us) ate at a great Italian restaurant Friday night Il Toscano in Weston - pricey but worth every dime - lots of great shopping ( I am not big shopper) but we have little shopping here so nice to see some fun stores - Saturday we hit the stores, watched the girls cheer at Pop Warner game (I almost had heat stroke) and grilled steaks Sat night - brought the girls back to our hotel Sat night - had tons of fun till about 1 AM telling stories (scary and all made up by me but they love it as they are both nervous nellies) - Sunday we chilled and hit the outlet stores and went to b'day party and then a fun sports bar (little neighborhood hole in the wall) - back to our hotel by 9 PM - I was beat!! Check in for return flight painless and home by 2 PM today but Tony's luggage did not make the direct flight - airline just called and said they'd deliver it - he is stressed as his GPS in luggage unlocked - we'll know shortly - nice quick get away

I hope your hotel was as nice as that Sawgrass in your area; that's where I stayed when you were on the World Cruise.

I love Ft. Lauderdale!

Pam you stayed at the Sawgrass marriott, a resort, our hotel was ok - I, too, love Lauderdale - great restaurants, people watching etc - -

Joanna,

What a great trip! Glad to hear Tony got his GPS back. I haven't been so lucky over the years (I have my checked bags cut into many times - I was once left with only 1 pair of underwear, a toothbrush, and an AC adapter for my laptop). I like scary stories. You'll have to tell me some!

Sounds like a lot of fun, JoAnna. We missed you while you were gone. Let us know if Tony gets his bag back...Is that near the Sawgrass Mills? I could not believe that shopping mecca when I was there with my friend a few years ago. We had a great time. I am due to visit her this year but the season for Boca is the season for taxes so I usually make her come here. I am going to try to come down this year. We'll see.

I like scary stories. You'll have to tell me some!

Well the problem is Lawrence that my stories are soooo scary you need to cuddle (are you ready??) - I have told them so many bogus scary stories and they rem each one - "Honey tell us again about the twins April and Dawn (born in April at Dawn) who were kidnapped from your camp"? (The Pennewell twins with sisters Barbara and Jean!!!) Oh how about Georgie who was running away from his sad family"? - I have not a clue what I have told them so I have to say enough about "those' stories - let's try new ones - they cuddle more and more

How fun, Joanna! Sounds like you had a great time. I am soooo relieved that the GPS arrived intact. Men and their toys should never be separated.

You know a weekend a way from the board, you can catch up. If you cruise, you can catch up via the computer room. If you take a land trip and no computer, you'll need a week just to catch back up with the goings on here.

Joanna - what fun! Welcome back. I really like the cuddling part, too, with the grandkids. Thomas used to have us play firehouse. We'd get a pillow & blanket, lie on the floor and cuddle to "sleep", then the alarm would come in, we'd grab the toy fire trucks, drive them to the emergency, back them up in the firehouse and cuddle back to "sleep" for another 5 minutes. Then, as 3 year olds love, "do it again!!".

Now that he's older, I'll have to try scary stories. Thanks for the great idea. Cheers, Anne

Joanna, I'm so happy you had such a fun trip and that your hubby got his luggage and GPS back. I would have been so stressed over that, I can only imagine how he felt.

I'm glad it all worked out and didn't spoil all the fun you had on the weekend.

Welcome home (back)!

of course it would have!, I don't know if I had my cell phone stollen or it fell out of my outside pocket of my handbag when in NYC this past spring, I should have known better under either circumstance not to put it there, but it caused me loads of stress and valuable time till I got things somewhat resolved, not to mention the expense of getting a new one when I got home.

I'm really happy he got it back, I love good news!!
