Hi, I am Merril and my husband is Alan, and we live in Manhattan. Alan was born in Liverpool, England, and I was born in Ohio. We have both lived in NY for over 30 years. Alan retired about 10 years ago from the printing business where he was a lithographic artist. I was a pension plan actuary and retired in 2004.
We started cruising in 1998 and have cruised on Silversea, Seabourn, Radisson, SeaDream, the QM2, and Celebrity. We are currently booked on the Mariner for the last leg of the SA cruise which starts next week, and Seabourn for three weeks in the Summer (Norway and the Baltic).
We enjoy several types of cruising experiences. We love small ship luxury cruising when it is just the two of us since the service, ambiance and friendliness cannot be beat. We find larger ships can be a lot of fun and are great for multi-generational family gatherings.
I was introduced to Ngaire and this board when I emailed Marci about one of her posts on the cc board. I booked the Mariner cruise and started lurking on this board in August. We are looking forward to meeting people from this board on our travels.

Welcome to LCT, Merril! I hope you become another active participant in our great board!
Nice to see other NYers on here, as my husband, Alan, and I are from NY (but now live in So. CA). And...Your husband is from Liverpool - a destination I hope to get to someday very soon. As the ultimate Beatle fan, Liverpool is a must for me!
Enjoy your cruise!

Hi,
My name is Jackie -- my husband's name is Dennis. We moved from Los Angeles to Bellingham, WA 4 years ago when Dennis retired. I was raised in L.A. -- Dennis was born in London and moved to L.A. when he was in his 20's. We have two daughters and 2 grandsons (all in L.A.) I've been lurking on several cruise sites for a while but find this one to have the information that I've been looking for.
We have traveled quite a bit but did not take a "real" cruise until 2004 when we were on the Paul Gauguin. We fell in love with the ship, the people, members of the crew and the style of cruising provided by Regent (Radisson at the time).
For my upcoming 60th birthday (although I feel young, I just don't like thinking about this birthday:-) Dennis said I could go anywhere ..... that sounded great so, after much research, we booked the Seven Seas Voyager Baltic cruise departing Copenhagen August 12th. I'm extremely excited and read anything I can get my hands on -- especially posts from people who have been on the Voyager and/or Baltic cruises.
We also booked the Seven Seas Navigator for their repositioning cruise next April. This will give us the opportunity to experience the "new" all-inclusive next year. So, it looks like I'll be on this site quite a bit in the next few months.
Anyway, I look forward to sharing experiences with other members of LCT!
Jackie

Jackie - Welcome to LCT. My partner, Pat, and I live on Camano Island, having escaped from LA about 18 years ago. We were on the PG last summer and on Voyager in the Baltics in 2003 and Norway in 2004. We just returned a few days ago from the Monte Carlo - Dover cruise on Voyager. Your choice of the Baltics cruise is a good one, particularly the three days in St. P. If you would like to come by for a glass of wine sometime before you leave in August, we'd be delighted to give you whatever info about the Baltics cruise and about that wonderful ship that we can. I'll send you our phone number by email. Cheers, Fred
PS - On our just-completed Voyager cruise, we met two lovely ladies from Seattle, one of whom has a summer place here on Camano. If you come to see us, we can perhaps introduce you to her, as well.

Welcome Jackie! Glad you found us here at LCT. The Voyager is a great ship and you sure can't go wrong with the Baltics itinerary either!! Really, great ports. Maybe some food for thought....many of us are going on the Voyager next June from Copenhagen to Copenhagen for a 2 week cruise (nicknamed FJORDS here on LCT...we give our group cruise acronym names). Maybe you and Dennis would like to join us! Welcome!

Hi Jackie, welcome to LCT. You've chosen a great itinerary on a great ship. I've sailed on the Voyager and also cruised in the Baltic. You have a winning combination. Look forward to more posts from you.
