Think I may have found it on the Regent website - how are you planning to get to Chile? Lee

I think Qantas flies from Sydney to Santiago.First to Auckland, then code shares with LanChile to Santiago. It s a very expensive fare so I'm hoping to use FF points.

My wife and I will be traveling on the PG Tahiti cruise for 7 days starting 9/20/08.

We are both 26 and enjoy vacationing. This is our first time on a luxury cruise line as we have both been on Carnival and Royal Caribean in the past. We usually rent places in remote areas of islands and stay away from the other tourists. This is our first time to Tahiti. We usually vacatio in the Caribean.

Sounds like everyone on this board is very helpful so I'll say thanks in advance for all the information.

Hello Everyone - Wow - this is a wonderful resource for information.

I've been a die-hard anti-cruiser for years. Not for any real reason... Just vague prejudice against the whole idea of “cruising”

My good friend Sue (Sue&TominGeorgia) has been raving about Regent. Says there is no better vacation. So now we will see
Next week we are off to experience Regent for the first time.

I'm going with novice eyes and a curious sense of adventure.

Thanks to everyone who has posted informaton here. Reading all your postings has really gotten me excited about the vacation.

Thanks!
Lynn

A very warm welcome to you, Lynn! Noooo worries whatsoever, you will love Regent. I chuckled when I read your post because that's exactly what we thought of cruising before we tried the smaller luxury lines.

Very cool that you & your husband will be sharing your first cruise experience with Sue & Tom, who definitely know what the Regent experience is all about! :app:

Speaking of which, :bv: :bv: :bv: ! Can't wait to read seamail from BOTH of you!!!

I've been lurking in the shadows for months. Now that we have our first Regent cruise under our belts, I thought I'd introduce ourselves.

I'm Judy and my husband is Steve. For the past 7 years we've called the coast of Maine our home. Helping us make our home a wonderful place to live, are two 80 pound black labs, one 22 year old cat, one teen age son and one 91 year old mom.

Steve is 57 and is in the technology industry. He's able to work from home 75% of the time. He's a private pilot, loves to read and can be very handy in the kitchen.... I'm 49 and a stay at home mom. (I prefer the title domestic goddess, or she who must be obeyed) I enjoy gardening, hiking, cooking, entertaining and making plans for our next travel adventure.

We've been on 10 cruises in our 23 years of marriage. The first being a Barefoot Cruise for our honeymoon. After that, we've cruised mostly with the larger cruise lines...Our Regent cruise last month was our first experience with a luxury line. The Navigator and her crew exceeded our expectations. We also had such a wonderful time meeting our fellow passengers. Everyone was so nice! We're looking forward to another journey on the Navigator in March, and hope to sail on one of Regents other ships in 2010, when we'll be celebrating our 25th.

Thanks to all of you for sharing your cruising knowledge. It's been very helpful.

Cheers,
Judy and Steve

Welcome, Judy and Steve.

The Navigator can be addictive, though it has to be hard to leave the coast of Maine (tho' probably not in March...).

Welcome Judy and Steve! Regent is a great adventure we have been on other Regent ships but will be on the Navigator for first time in November. Glad to hear you both enjoyed the Navigator. WOW we are in Florida but love ME...maybe not in the winter?? Are you by any chance near Biddeford Pool? Great memories of very cold dips in ocean in July, Maine lobsters/clams steamed in pile of rocks and seaweed, hot corn on the cob, berry picking....Joanna

Twas the night before sailing....

My bag is packed...much too much stuff I fear. I sail tomorrow aboard Voyager, and I am quite excited to introduce myself here.

I am Tyler Franks, married and 51, and Dad and I are going to cross the Atlantic from Fort Lauderdale to Horta, in the Azores. This is my first Regent trip, and I have received quite good info from this site already.

I was a Corporate Pilot for 30 years, and in retirement I use my talents with people and numbers to prepare taxes. I am an IRS Enrolled Agent, which is merely a credential which allows me to practice before the IRS like a CPA or Attorney. From life in the sky to one on the sea. Our family has owned boats as long as I can remember, and this trip with my father is a culmination of all of the great times on the water we have spent together. He is no stranger to Regent, and will show me some of the ropes while I learn others on my own.
You will find me the social one aboard, but spending time with Dad is the main focus of our next 10 days. My hope is to get him onto the bridge or into the engine room, where his passion for the sea will apex in the technology that he never got to see. We are now boatless, and sad though that sounds, having this outlet to share is a great fortune for us.

See you aboard

Tyler

Hi Everyone,

I have been lurking for about a year. We are sailing on the B2B cruise from Athens to Venice. So I am taking a big breath and introducing the two of us. Originally from the West Coast (Manhattan Beach CA & Aberdeen WA, we have been living in Florida for a long time. Bob's job brought us here and we decided to stay. We now live in St Augustine FL and couldn't be happier.

We are late to cruising, having only taken 3 Regent cruises. All of them have been on the Voyager because of the itineraries. We are signed up for two more, one on the Voyager and another on (at last) the Mariner. Happy days are ahead!

Hello to all!

Since Jim asked so kindly, and since I am now officially booked on CAPTAINS AND NILE, I thought it would be a good time to introduce myself.

I have been lurking on the site for a couple of years and have been so impressed with the comraderie and everyone's willingness to help.

I have a small business and my two daughters work for me (or I work for them, depending on who you ask)

I love to travel but most of my trips have been land trips. I look forward to meeting everyone on CAPTAINS.

I almost forgot to mention that I am Canadian.

Susan,
Welcome. Carol and I are also booked on CAPTAINS and NILE. Friends we have met through a B&K cruise and on ROAR are also booked on both. Ray and Pat are from the Toronto area. Looking forward to meeting you. We are really looking forward to CAPTAINS. As you have observed this is a wonderful group of people.

Can I add your name to the roll call for NILE.

I do not think anyone has started a roll call for CAPTAINS as yet.

Hi Susan, so glad you posted. Ralph please add Susan to NILE. Since she is new at posting she would not know that she could post under the NILE thread. I will shoot her an email and tell her you did that. I encouraged her to post so tickled that she did.
