Hi, all-

I can't tell you how much fun I have had since finding and joining LCT, and how much I have learned. Roberta and I both look forward to meeting many of you shortly on Mush, but I thought a brief introduction might be in order.

We have lived in Naples, FL for 4 years and Miami for 20 years before that. We are both originally from the New York, New Jersey area. I am a practicing Pulmonary/Critical Care specialist and my wife was a travel agent in Miami but is now enjoying herself and planning our older daughter's wedding which will be in June 2007.

Roberta and I took many "mass-market" cruises early in our marriage. I was even a ship's doctor on the old Norway a couple of times (should have done that when I was single). As our tastes for fine dining and luxury travel matured, we stopped cruising. We are both truly looking forward to our upcoming Alaska adventure on the Mariner in just under 3 weeks (but who is counting?).

Thanks to all those whose hard work make LCT possible- cheer

Mitch Petusevsky

Perhaps they will be kind enough to instruct me on how to use my crutches after I fall off the mountain on our rock climbing/rappelling excursion!

Hello all cruisers,

We were on BLISS and several prior RSSC sailings. We like to combine a cruise with an extended land trip with either Jim driving & me trying to navigate or we explore the area by joining a hiking travel group.

Our next cruise will be Manaus to Buenos Aires, just after the LCT cruise ends. After disembarking we will visit Easter Island & Patagonia for several weeks.

We live in the center of Chicago & have 2 children, ages 24 & 26. Jim took early retirement & now uses his time at home to do travel planning & investing. Have do one to do the other! We travel about 5 months a year.

Both Jim & I have been lurkers on the sight for awhile so we are coming clean now. You are so friendly & helpful.

Jackie

We’ve just been informed by our TA at B&K that our docs will be arriving on Wednesday (Yippee!) so I guess we’ve been lurking long enough and it’s time to finally introduce ourselves and thank everyone who has been so kind to share with us as we have planned our upcoming PG cruise. We’ve enjoyed getting to know each of you over the past few months via your posts so here goes on us…..

We are relatively new to cruising (but not to travel which is our passion!). Our first cruise was with Disney in ’01 and we took our two nieces who were 10 and 11 at the time and had a wonderful time. It was all about the kids (both young and old!). Our next cruise was in ‘04/’05 (it was over xmas and new years) and was on the Celebrity Xpedition in the Galapagos in celebration of our 10th anniversary. This was a fabulous trip! It was our first introduction to all-inclusive cruising and boy are we hooked! If anyone is interested in details on this particular cruise – please ask! Our biggest complaint on the Disney cruise was the nickel and dime-ing we experienced every time we turned around. On the Galapagos cruise everything was included – all the excursions, food, alcohol – everything. It’s a small, intimate ship – approx. 100 pax. And the accommodations and the staff were super. The only negative was with some of the food as at the time we cruised (it may have changed by now) they were required to get most of their food supplies directly from the Galapagos and the variety and quality was just not available. On this cruise is where we heard people mention a special ship called the Paul Gauguin which we then researched when we got home and are now booked to sail on September 23rd. We are so excited!

As for other personal details – we are both 50, live and work outside Washington, DC in Northern Virginia – my husband in the IT field and myself in residential property management. We work to afford to travel and travel to live.

Thank you again for all of your help in planning our upcoming cruise. It truly has added something special to our expectations and anticipation. And a special thank you to Marcie (petlover) for pointing us in the direction of B&K.

We hope to meet you all somewhere soon on the high seas!

Welcome to LCT. Sandee, a couple of similarities. Spell my name Sandee, I am 50, and I was in Residential Property Mgmt, for 15 yrs ( and still do it part time for my husband and his partners.) I go by Sandra most of the time now though.

A very warm welcome to all! Here's hoping you post often and find time spent on LCT to be informative and enjoyable!

Sandee and Brian,

We are having an LCT gathering on Sept. 30 in D.C. Would be great if you would both consider joining our group. Please let us know. We'd love to add you to the RSVP list for dinner at 701. There are about 18-20 signed-up so far. It would be nice to add your names!

Thank you all for the very warm welcomes.

Denise,

Thank you for the invite. We would love to join you for the Washington D.C. get together but we set sail on the PG on September 23rd and won't be back in DC until October 8th. (Our docs are scheduled to arrive today and I'm ready to dance!) We are sorry we'll miss the opportunity to meet some fellow LCTers. Didn't realize so many were in this area. BTW, great restaurant choice.

cheer
