I will be running the Disneyland half marathon in September with my sister. Does anyone know of a good Italian restaurant that we can dine at the night before the race? We will not be renting a car, so we need a place within walking distance of the Disneyland Hotel. Any advice will be helpful, neither of us have been to Disneyland.
Thanks!

Are you just looking to "carb up"? Or are you interested in a nice restaurant? There is an Italian place in Downtown Disney just steps from the Hotel where you can get pasta.(Napolini) Or there is a very nice Northern Italian Restaurant about 2.5 miles away.(Anaheim White House) Walking distance for marathon runners, but I would take a taxi :)

Yes, we are looking to carb load the night before the race. Having just complete the Disney Princess Half Marathon, we found that having a good pasta and bread dinner the night before the early start time (6:00 am) did the trick. I wanted to make reservations since there will be approximately 15,000 runners also looking for pasta. ;)

714) 781-DINE is your best bet to get a reservation in Disney. Napolini is the only "Italian" restaurant but I would expect that Catal and Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney ,or even Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel will all have pasta dishes on their menus. There is also a House of Blues restauarnt and a New Orleans/Cajun themed place that I cant recall the name of, all within minutes of your hotel. Good Luck in the race!!

Helen, The New Orleans Place is Ralph Brennan's. Brennan Family owns some pretty good spots in NOLA and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen is very good although I haven't been there for a while since we seem to dine with friends down that way periodically.

Thanks, Kathy! we won our recent trial and are taking the trial team to Club 33 on Sunday, you saved me that finger-snapping "That's it!" moment when I passed it by!

I agree with the recommendation of The White House unless you are looking for convenience/quantity rather than quality. I did this half marathon a few years ago - on a day that was WAY too hot. The portion in and around the parks is very fun, as is going through Angel Stadium. Other than that there are some long, dull stretches but it's flat. Good luck and enjoy!
